Role Purpose
The incumbent of this position represents SC values and principles in interactions with staff and external audiences. These values and principles include commitment to the mission of Save the Children international, team orientation, quality management and leadership development, introducing systems and procedures to strengthen staff motivation and productivity. The post holder will be responsible for coordinating the emergency nutrition work and providing wide-ranging technical support to the emergency nutrition staff for implementation of quality emergency nutrition response. S/he will be expected to work closely with PDQ thematic sectors, Humanitarian and Operations team (CO, Hub and field office) and SCI other sectors/ departments. S/he will be responsible for coordinating emergency nutrition response / project implementation, monitoring, review and evaluation processes. S/he will be responsible for representing the nutrition sector in internal and external emergency nutrition coordination meetings.
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
This post focuses on emergency/humanitarian programming, but will be expected to contribute to SCI’s dual mandate and support as needed in both emergencies and development settings.

Qualification and Experience
MSc Degree or first Degree in public health, nursing, nutrition or related health fields with a minimum of 5years works experience in the area of emergency nutrition in NGO environment.
Certificate in monitoring and evaluation, nutrition in humanitarian context, CMAM, IYCF, or any other related topics.
Proven experience on program quality monitoring and improvement
Experience in working with government counterparts and other partners at various levels - federal to district
Excellent understanding of the relevant thematic sector in Ethiopia at both field and policy levels; including the national nutrition program and how it fits with the HEP as well as CMAM programming
Proven experience in designing emergency nutrition projects and developing successful proposals.
Familiarity with nutrition donors, partners, and NGO groups
Practical understanding of the challenges and opportunities in realising children’s rights in Ethiopia, in relation to thematic area
Skills
Demonstrable experience in M&E
Good presentation and facilitation skills
Proven conceptual skills and an ability to think and plan strategically
Good communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to train and mentor staff
Proven ability to manage a complex and demanding workload
Excellent spoken and written English
Good computer skills (particularly Excel, Word and databases)
