Kanye West responds to “disrespectful” Kid Cudi: “I birthed you!”

Kanye West and Kid Cudi’s once fruitful relationship has deteriorated in recent years. Cudi left Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music label in 2013 and soon after, he blasted his former boss for using his vocals on Yeezus without permission. While the two did reunite earlier this year on The Life of Pablo, on Wednesday Cudi publicly called out Kanye during an epic Twitter tirade.

“I need yall to know I got so many haters within the industry and these clowns know Im bout to crush their entire existance,” Cudi wrote. “Everyone thinks they’re soooo great. Talkin top 5 and be having 30 people write songs for them.” He went on to single out Kanye and Drake, writing, “My tweets apply to who they apply. Ye, Drake, whoever. These niggas dont give a fuck about me. And they aint fuckin with me.”

On Wednesday evening, Kanye responded to Cudi’s comments during a concert in Tampa. “You know how many people wish they could be signed to GOOD Music? Get they life changed? Have an opportunity? Never forget that,” he proclaimed from atop his floating stage. “I’m so hurt. I feel so disrespected. Kid Cudi, we two black men in a racist world. I wore skinny jeans first! I got called names before you, bro! Why y’all gotta be coming at me? This ain’t the end of the Malcolm X movie! I’m out here fighting for y’all! Creatives! Artists! Independent thinkers! Don’t ever mention my name in a a bad manner! None of y’all! …I birthed you!”
