Citing facilities in Houston, TX that were "irreparably damaged" by Hurricane Harvey, a technology company says it's going to try to move manufacturing operations and workers to Chippewa Falls.

Hewlett Packard Enterprises recently made the announcement in a

. The release said the company "will attempt to relocate some of the impacted manufacturing employees to Chippewa Falls or Austin," but does not mention how many or when. It considers bringing the manufacturing operations to Chippewa Falls a permanent move. The company said it also doesn't expect the changes to disrupt its customers or partners because it prepared for the hurricane earlier this year.

The company said it will move out of its current Houston campus, but will move to a new campus. HPE's President said in the release that the new campus will be "purpose-built" for HPE. He also said in the statement that HPE has more than 3,000 employees in the Houston area.
