Kinomap announced several new updates to their video based, interactive indoor training service. Following up to last year’s more passive Strava and Veloviewer collaboration, Kinomap has adding the possibility to run virtual video training on many Strava segments. There are also several functional updates to the app experience and expanded compatibility now available.
Virtual Strava Segment training
What Kinomap has done was to run detailed database matching between their catalog of video and defined segments on Strava. The result is high quality video segments that allow you to virtually train on some of the famous Strava segments on the road. Not only does it give a unique perspective on training for KOM hunting, but it also highlights the most interesting elements of many existing Kinomap videos.
The segments also let users drop out the less effective parts of Kinomap videos for training (like descents) focusing instead on things like jumping from segment to segment as a part of interval training.
