A model has been left partially blind after getting an eye tattoo.

Catt Gallinger decided to get a scleral tattoo that would tint the whites of her eyes – but it has left her partially blind.

During the treatment, the Canadian woman experienced purple liquid seeping from her eye and it was clear something had gone wrong.

The 24-year-old wrote on Facebook: “As it stands I will have to see a specialist and am at risk of being blind if it doesn't get corrected.

“This was caused by undiluted ink, over injection, not enough/smaller injections sights.”

Catt urged others to share her post and so far it’s received nearly 3,400 shares and 2,200 comments.

Catt wants the post to be a warning to urge others considering getting these procedures to make sure they do their research beforehand and know how the procedure should be properly done.

Four weeks after the tattoo and the former pet nutritionist cannot see clearly out of her left eye.

Immediately after the procedure, when the purple liquid began to seep, Catt was rushed to hospital and administered antibiotic eye drops.

However this only left her with a swollen eye and blurred vision.

She was then given steroid drops but this caused the purple liquid to clump around the cornea.

Doctors believe the reason for the purple liquid could have been because the equipment used was not entirely sterile and could have caused an infection.

Catt has been told that she will never full recover and that she will never be able to see clearly out of her left eye again – and that she could even lose her vision completely.

While a recent video from Catt has revealed her vision has improved, she strongly advises against the treatment for anyone considering it.
