Almost Exactly What I Ordered...
Love everything about this product that I researched exhausted before purchasing a year ago. However, bit by bit, piece by piece, the food shoot has broken. It's to the point now where I don't have much left to hold onto! It appears the manufacturer used a cheap plastic on this portion of the machine. The rest of the machine is super, with no defects. Very disappointed. I would like the parts replaced, at the very least.

I LOVE this appliance! I bought this to help with my Thanksgiving cooking. It's important to note that I've never owned a food processor other than an electric mini chopper for small jobs like salsa or bruschetta. I cook a lot and slice, dice, & grate by hand. Over 20 years of that & I'm over it! Read the reviews and there were a lot of positive ones, so I went ahead and chose this model because of the color, it's red like my KitchenAid Mixer (another item I love!). It's definitely a lot more expensive than some of the other brands like B&D, but I figured it'd be a nice treat considering I cook so much. This baby did not disappoint! Since I'm a novice I was intimidated a bit, thought perhaps it might be too complicated. Read through the straight-forward manual and I was ready. I used the blade, shredder and slicer all in one day. I started with my pecan crust sweet potato pie - used the blade and it processed the pecans within seconds, processed the sweet potato and pie ingredients in less than a minute (blade), and easily rinsed out for my next job. I sliced potatoes for my au gratin recipe, I left the skin on the gold Idaho and peeled and cut down the russet to halves, then fed through the feeder tube (slicer). What would've normally taken me 15 mins (at least!), was accomplished in about 2 mins. Rinsed and it was time to grate the block of Gruyere cheese with the shredder, maybe 10 secs tops! Wow. I'm so amazed by this appliance and I'm bummed that I haven't used processors before. The clean up is easy and it helps cut time off your food prep by a lot!!! Is it perfect, of course not - the last little chunk of cheese from the block got caught up between the grater and the lid. No matter, that's no different than when you hand grate, there's always that little piece at the end that you simply stop at otherwise your fingers get cut! So glad I bought this appliance, hope it lasts a long time. I'll update my review if I have any issues...meanwhile, I'm a happy gal!

I already love this machine and don't know how I went so long without it. I had no problems using it, it's very easy to understand. The buttons on the front to start it are a little difficult to push but not a big deal. I started with asiago cheese and used the grater disc and it was amazing. I HATE shredding cheese and this is so much easier! I then used the slicer and tried different thicknesses for cucumber and radish. I can't believe how easy and perfect it is. The thinnest slice is paper thin and the thicker one is perfect for cucumber chips to dip in ranch. I then used the chopper blade and made some salsa with tomatoes, cilantro, onion, garlic, lemon and salt. It's delicious and just a few pulses chops very well! I highly recommend! It says the parts are dishwasher safe but I prefer to hand wash because the bowl is plastic and I don't want it to crack or the blades to become dull.

I've been a fan of KitchenAid products for a while now. Perhaps it's the alluring red color that I keep buying everything in so it can all match, but I'm really happy.

This processor does everything it was designed excellently. It can comfortably hold a large amount of anything you throw in there, up to about 7 cups. I cannot feasibly foresee any reason to want something bigger.

The blades are very sharp and process things quickly and effectively. There are three modes slow, fast, and pulse, and you can also raise or lower the blade accordingly.

Everything locks into place safely and very snugly. The top of the food processor locks in what I consider to be the tightest, so much so that I need a lot of force to unlock it and pull it off. Perhaps I'm doing it wrong. I'm not complaining though.

I forget the proper name but the feeding tube on the top is big enough for large size chunks of anything. It also comes with a removable inner tube with a small hole at the bottom allowing you to perform a slow, even, and controlled drizzle of whatever you pour in.

All in all, I'm happy with my purchase and I'd highly recommend. Hopefully it doesn't blow up in my face.

(This is the wife talking) I have a few Kitchen Aid appliances - stand mixer, toaster, now food processor. After several years of using a small-capacity processor from a different manufacturer, I decided to upgrade to a larger capacity model. I was pleased with my other KA appliances, so what could go wrong?

The feed tube could go wrong, that's what.

If the manual were explicit about the position of the feed tube when attaching the work bowl cover, this would be a five-star review. But it's not, and, after spending a decade with a food processor that was *not* picky about the feed tube position, it never occurred to me that the position was the difference between a food processor and a stylish paperweight. My eldest daughter was the first to use it (several times) and reported no problems. I didn't break it out until many months later, after my daughter was away at college. If I had called her, she probably would have told me about the feed tube - or maybe not. She, being a righteous food processor virgin, probably assembled it as the pictures look, and never recognized that the feed tube must be in that exact position (six o'clock, woe to those who need a digital clock to tell time) for the unit to operate.

Meanwhile, I came to this unit spoiled by a carefree, exciting feed tube who would give me action in any position, so my actual use of this unit was hit-or-miss. I thought it was me. Am I not good enough? It worked for my daughter every time - maybe it's only into younger women, and can't be bothered with an old broad unless it's really in the mood?

But, no. It's not me. It's the unit. It only wants to work with the feed tube of the bowl cover in the same position, every time. Sigh.

Other than that, it's a great machine. I won't be trading it in for a different model anytime soon; I'll just let my freak flag fly on with some other appliance.
