What's new

Something special happened! I found a razor I could not pass up.

1924 (from sn#) Tuckaway Gold. Barely used, perfect shape, new unwrapped blades in the case, 1930's New Norfolk style case with red lining. My question about that is: Was that case available also in 1924? The indents in the lining don't match a common bar handle. Could it be original to the razor?

And now the really special part: There is no way I would let this one get away from me. Not because it is extremely rare or favored by collectors. Because it is the first vintage razor I have ever seen monogrammed with MY initials. It was meant to be mine. Or was it already mine in an earlier life? Spooky.

Congrats! And now you have a beautiful razor and also have a interesting story to tell.

Enjoy it!

I'm not sure this is entirely accurate, but of all the initial possibilities you found 1 in 17,576 that happened to match. I'm sure there are certain initials that are more common than others, but hopefully you can pick up what I'm putting down. Nice score RCB!

All three initials? Whoa. It's yours, indeed.

Serial on one of my OLDs ends in 666 ... Mine, all mine.

That is gorgeous. And the initials are icing on the cake. And if it had my initials, I would have spent whatever it took to snatch it up. Congrats!!!

Ha, I had that case engraved just for you and you sure did fall for it -- hook, line, and sinker! :001_tt2:

Congrats, I do like those short handled Tuckys.

I don't think you will ever find another razor that will mean as much to you as that one does. Congratulations on a great find.

The case looks like it's in about as good of condition as you could hope for, the razor looks great, and... it has your initials already in it? There's no way you can ignore signs like that.

Tell us what you think after you use it!

That's way better than the glass syrup bottle I bought at a yard sale. It had "JONROSE" (with no "H") molded on the bottom.

My guess is it's a bespoke case, possibly made for a retailer. Not a Norfolk case like this one.

I'm very happy you found it. Synchronicity strikes again!
