ROLE PURPOSE:
The FSL Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring efficient and high quality implementation of food security and livelihoods programme in 14 woreda of North Wollo, South wollo and Waghimira Zones, in Amhara region. The post holder will work closely with the Senior Project Manager and Zonal coordinators, with FSL team and other project staff and develop plans for FSL project activities, developing appropriate implementation tools to track progress and monitor and provide technical support to the FSL theme of the project. The FSL coordinator is in charge of identify capacity needs of field staff; provide capacity building training to ensure staffs are able to implement activities to a highest standard. She/he will also liaise with other actors to ensure effective coordination.
The position holder will ensure that FSL interventions achieves the program objectives; he/she is responsible for ensuring that lessons derived through implementation of projects are well articulated, documented and disseminated both internally and externally.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Work closely with Field team and with country office project staffs on the project FSL activities planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation;
Coordinate the Nutrition Sensitive FSL interventions of INSPIRE project; the crop production, Livestock production and livestock health, Natural resource management conservation, Saving and off farm income generating activities;
Support field teams on the designing appropriate beneficiary selection criteria and ensure all field staff are aware of beneficiary selection criteria and selection process and compliant mechanisms;
Provide field level monitoring and technical assistance to project staff, partners and beneficiaries; identify gaps and provide appropriate solution to sustainably implement the project FSL interventions;
Compilation of all FSL project activities and beneficiary information and share with senior project Manager;
Work closely with MEAL team and field staff to ensure appropriate accountability mechanism is understood and accessible to beneficiaries. Support FSL field staff in responding to any feedback as needed;
Compile regional FSL procurement plan, prepare supporting procurement documents and timely share to the senior project manager;
Prepare work plans, follow FSL activities implementations, track progress, compile and share to senior project manager
Capacity building; Identify capacity gaps and needs of field staff and design trainings with the support from FSL advisor;
Support FSL officers (Agronomist, Livelihoods, Livestock and NRM officers) on targeting, beneficiary training, inputs distribution, facilitate procurements, and closely follow post distributions;
Support the design of assessments and share information on needs and possible program design with FSL Advisor to support strategy development;
Discuss with relevant Government stakeholders on overall FSL plan, implementation strategies, and areas of collaboration;
Liaise with relevant key stakeholders, such as the Agriculture and Natural resources, Livestock and fishery , Women and Children Affairs, Microenterprise and other government agencies to share lessons learned from the project;
Works closely with implementing partners to oversee quality of work and provide technical support.
Coordinate with other departments and sector teams within SCI to ensure complementarities and prevent overlap in targeted areas;
Participate on the development of tools, documents and on assessment;
Compile reports and updated FSL data and share to senior project manager and FSL specialist;
As needed, organize meetings and lead partners meetings and workshops;
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
BSc/MSc in development studies, food security and livelihoods, agriculture/livestock/veterinary medicine, or related fields.
Minimum of four years of experience in managing integrated livelihood and food security implementations for MSc and six years’ experience for BSc; out of which at least two years’ experience directly related to nutrition sensitive agriculture and multi-sectorial developmental nutrition project
