Clinical analysis of non-operative treatment of traumatic optic neuropathy in children

Abstract: Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics of non-operative treatment of traumatic optic neuropathy in children.Methods A total of 43 children (45 eyes) who were hospitalized with traumatic optic neuropathy from November 2014 to November 2015 were analyzed retrospectively.The clinical manifestations,incidence features,clinical diagnosis and clinical treatment were summarized.Results Traffic accident was the main reason of the traumatic optic neuropathy.The visual impairment was usually severe.After the treatment,the vision of most children was improved.Conclusion The traumatic optic neuropathy of children should be diagnosed and treated early so that the prognosis could be improved.
