He gets found out because Tina is bewildered when he refuses to go grab a hot dog with her. Mr. Graves never said no to a hot dog. Something must be wrong.
HOW IT SHOULD HAVE GONE DONE HONESTLY
What if Grindelwald knows Graves’ eating habits so to play the part he goes with Tina to get a hot dog. Only he loathes then so he slathers his one in as much mustard as he possibly can to mask the taste. Tina looks on horrified but before she can say anything he stuffs one end in his mouth, bites down and chews a few times before swallowing. He aims to smile at her but has a feeling it’s more of a grimace.
His lips tingle. Then his tongue goes fuzzy and his lips suddenly feel twice the size. Tina grabs his arm and apparates them to the nearest hospital but the world’s a bit hazy by then as he wheezes for each breath.
By them time the world has fewer black splotches and he doesn’t have to fight for each breath he is tied to a bed and surrounded by aurors. Picquery herself stand by the foot of his bed looking regally pissed off.
