It’s go time for Drax and Thanos.
Josh Brolin shocked fans with his incredible body transformation (he’s shredded) for the part of Cable in Deadpool 2, but there is another person who was blown away, Avengers: Infinity War co-star Dave Bautista.
The Drax actor already said as much via social media, but he recently explained to Heat Vision that Brolin’s impressive physique made him hit the gym even harder after a promise to the Thanos actor.
“I am known for being in shape and being a big guy, and he actually made me self-conscious! I swear to God, I promised him that in November, when I do some work on [Avengers] 4, I told him, ‘I will be in better shape for that because you make me self-conscious, fucker!'” Bautista said with a huge laugh.

Brolin has transformed himself so much, Bautista told Heat Vision, he did not even recognize him at first.
“I was out in California in June doing another project, and he walked up to me at Gold’s Gym and goes, ‘Dave,’ and I am looking at him. And he said, ‘It’s Josh,’ and I was like, ‘Holy fuck!'” Bautista said. “He literally transformed himself in a matter of months. He is a stud. He is not only jacked, but he is shredded. His face is all sunken in like a model. He is like a completely different person.”
The two actors’ competitive streak came through last month at D23, where during the Avengers: Infinity War panel, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige suggested Drax might be able to take down Thanos. Brolin’s response? “Drax ain’t shit.”
Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds, is also in top-notch shape for the film.
Brolin has been posting updates on his gym regimen through social media, telling fans he was all-in, locking his diet down.
“Totally clean: no sugar, no breads, no pastas, no drugs, none of it. Fish, rice, eggs, veggies, water, one @bulletproof or @cavemancoffeeco in the morning,” Brolin wrote on Instagram. “I’m almost 50. It’s a different time: our access along with some big picture discipline results in always surprising milestones.”
Avengers: Infinity War will hit theaters May 4, 2018. Deadpool 2 is due out June 1, 2018.
