Champions League:- Aubameyang Out To Revenge Failed Tottenham Transfer

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is relishing the idea of punishing Tottenham Hotspur for a failed transfer when both teams trade tackles in the UEFA Champions League.

According to the Gabonese striker, Tottenham approached him in 2012 when he was still in the books of Saint-Etienne but it fell through, even as he criticised the London club for things getting “weird”.

Aubameyang eventually moved to Dortmund a year later where he has now earned himself a legend status.

Speaking to Bild ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash, Aubameyang said, “Of course, this is once again an extra motivation.

“In 2016 we progressed past Spurs in the Europa League and I scored three goals in the tie. Of course I want to meet them again.

“[Back in 2012] I was in Tottenham at the time, looked at the stadium and the training ground and we talked. But after that, no one stepped forward to see me.”
