Fashionistas are annoyed with the e-tailer’s choice of “plus-size” model and have criticised the brand for not accurately representing curvy women.

Boohoo offer stylish options in sizes 16-24 under their “Plus-Size and Curve” range.

But shoppers have pointed out that the models look nowhere near a size 16 in the snaps.

One social media user shared a snap of a stunning blonde modelling a white bikini with a pink and lilac trim.

She said: “Anyone else majorly offended that this is a 'plus-size' bikini on a 'plus-size' model?”

The beauty therapist accused the images of contributing to body image issues.

She added: “No wonder girls think they are 'fat’.”

Another Twitter fan echoed her statement, by saying: “It really annoys me that the plus-size model on the Boohoo website is hardly even plus-size.”

One user said: “I hate seeing her. She's got such a small figure. Not plus-size at all.”

Someone added: “I am fuming. I’ve been reduced to tears. I am really hurt by this. Hopefully they fix it.”

This isn’t the first time a fashion brand has come under fire. Recently a Victoria's Secret’s advertising campaign caused uproar due to a Photoshop fail.

The underwear giant shared a shot featuring blonde beauties Martha Hunt and Stella Maxwell both modelling a Body by Victoria bra.

But something odd was going on with Martha’s arms.

There seemed to be some blurry white patches around her limbs leading fans to accuse the brand of trying to make her look thinner.

Someone said: “Holy Photoshop. So over this company for making their already fit and skinny girls way more small than necessary. @victoriassecret shame on you.”

Daily Star Online has contacted Boohoo for comment.
