JAY-Z Talks the Making of “4:44” Album

Every Friday, JAY-Z has been releasing a video for one song off his 4:44 album. From the Friends-themed “Moonlight” with Jerrod Carmicheal to “Adnis” with Mahershala Ali and Danny Glover, as well as Lupita Nyong’o-starring “ManyFacedGod.” He’s switching it up for this Hov Friday, though.

For this week’s release, Hovito sits down with RR to speak on the making of 4:44 with No I.D. and how he studied some of the greatest musicians in history before he even stepped into the booth. Not to mention the roll-out for the album, the content in every song and how he ranks it compared to the rest of his catalog.

Jay also about the streaming numbers game, how his company competes with Spotify, controversial lyrics on “The Story of O.J.” and what’s good with him and Kanye West. He even touched on that elevator fight with Solange Knowles.

He goes really in-depth and confirms the album title theory was real all along.
