Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson on Friday revealed his new tattoo, which covers up his iconic bull ink on his gigantic right bicep.
The action superstar and former pro wrestler got a new bull to cover the old one, but it is not as simple as it sounds.
In a lengthy Instagram post, the Ballers star explains what the new image means, going through the piece done by renowned artist Nikko Hurtado bit by bit.
“Every detail is a reflection of my own personal history,” Johnson began. “From the cracks and heavy damage in the bone representing life’s hard lessons I’ve learned over the years. Just like scars and wrinkles — I’m so grateful to have ’em because they’re earned.”
He continued, “To the horns, not pointing up or out to the side, but pointing straight ahead representing relentless energy and forward progress. The core and anchor of this image is in the eye. Look closely and you’ll find the life, energy, power and you’ll feel the MANA (spirit). The eye tells the story of a disruptive positive energy always ready to dent the universe.”
It is kind of shocking Johnson found time to get the work done considering how jam-packed his schedule is with multiple films in production and his HBO show, Ballers. In fact, he made light of how little time he has these days in a new Apple mini-movie promoting Siri. The highly entertaining ad went viral.
