Patriots, Raiders, Cowboys Among Super Bowl Favorites
With Week 1 of the 2017 NFL preseason about to begin, one team stands above the rest as the favorite to win the championship. It comes as no surprise that the defending champion New England Patriots have the best Super Bowl 2018 betting odds.
Bovada.lv puts New England’s title odds at +350, making their odds twice as good as anyone else in football. Green Bay is second at +750, followed by the Oakland Raiders (+1000) and Dallas Cowboys (+1200).

At the very least, the Patriots seem like like a lock to reach the AFC Championship Game. it’s what they’ve done in every year since 2011. Tom Brady is defying logic, arguably getting better at 40 years old, and New England hasn’t missed the playoffs in nine years.
Green Bay is tied with New England for the longest active postseason streak. They haven’t had nearly the same kind of success in the playoffs, making one Super Bowl appearance compared to New England’s three during that same period of time. But the Packers have the NFC’s best quarterback in Aaron Rodgers, and they are heavy favorites to win the NFC North.
Some Las Vegas sportsbooks actually have Green Bay as the second favorite in the NFC behind the Cowboys. Dallas is coming off their best season in a decade, with their 13-3 record good enough to win the NFC East and make them the No.1 seed in the conference. They lost to the Packers in the divisional playoffs, though they could have another big year in 2017.
Dallas’ success will depend on their two star rookies that made history a year ago. Ezekiel Elliott led the league in rushing, while Dak Prescott performed like a top-five quarterback in the NFL. The Cowboys will try to hold off the New York Giants (+2200), who might be a legitimate Super Bowl contender after signing free agent Brandon Marshall in the offseason.
After losing to the Patriots in last year’s AFC Championship Game, the Pittsburgh Steelers (+1200) look to be the class of the AFC North. The Seattle Seahawks (+1200) are clearly the best team in the NFC West, and their five straight playoff appearances have included two trips to the Super Bowl.
With +1400 Super Bowl LI odds, the Atlanta Falcons can’t be counted out as title contenders. They are looking for redemption after blowing the largest lead in Super Bowl history.
Three teams are tied at the bottom of the league with the worst Super Bowl odds. The Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers won a combined three games in the 2016 season, while the New York Jets might have the worst roster in the entire NFL.
