Abstract: Objective To compare the effect of ergometrine maleate and oxytocin for the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage. Methods Totally 200 high-risk parturient women admitted to our hospital were retrospectively analyzed and divided into the observa-tion group and the control group according to the use of different drugs for preventing postpartum hemorrhage,100 cases in each group. The observation group was given oxytocin, while the control group was given ergometrine maleate. Results The total effective rate and incidence rate of adverse reaction in the observation group were 95. 00% and 4. 00%,respectively,which were obviously superior to 85. 00% and 13. 00% in the control group( P < 0. 05). The bleeding volume of the observation group after 2,24 h was significantly less than that of the control group ( P < 0. 05). Conclusion The effect of oxytocin in the prevention of postpartum hemorrhage of high-risk parturient women was significantly better than ergonovine maleate. It is safe, reliable, and can effectively reduce the bleeding volume, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
