Police in Chiba Prefecture said Friday they have arrested three men on suspicion of abandoning a body in Choshi port last year.
After the dismembered torso and head of a man were found floating in the port last Sept 22, police said a DNA test showed the body was that of Takuya Ono, 33, of unknown occupation from Ushiku, Ibaraki Prefecture, Fuji TV reported.
Police said tattoos were on parts of the body.
Police said the three suspects, aged 37, 30 and 24, all knew the victim and believe there was financial trouble between the four men.
Police said the 24-year-old man has admitted to killing and disposing of Ono’s body, but the other two have denied the charge.

It should read "...dumping parts of man's dismembered body...". "Dismembered body parts" implies he was cut into pieces, and those pieces were then cut into more pieces
