Senator Gordon approaches, talks with teary-eyed Faeldon

Senator Richard Gordon on Tuesday approached and talked with an emotional Customs Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon after the latter was grilled by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV during the Senate blue ribbon committee hearing on the P6.4-billion shabu shipment from China.

At the start of the hearing, Faeldon and Trillanes had an intense exchange of words after the senator asked the Customs chief if there is corruption at the agency.

Faeldon initially refused to answer Trillanes' questions.

Trillanes then warned Faeldon that he could be cited in contempt if he would continue to refuse to answer the questions.

Gordon then tried to meddle, saying that Faeldon should respect the Senate.
