Rice Jr. nets triple double as TNT outlasts NLEX

The TNT KaTropa relied on a balanced attack to carve out a 112-107 win over the NLEX Road Warriors on Wednesday.

Five players scored in double figures for TNT, led by Glen Rice Jr. who had 25 points with 15 boards, 10 assists, and five blocks. Kelly Williams added 19, as Troy Rosario scored 17.

Jayson Castro and and Mo Tautuaa scored 13 and 12 points, respectively, while Anthony Semerad rounded up the scorers in double figures with 10.

TNT was able to tie the game via a Kevin Alas make at the 3:32 mark, 101-all, but the Texters raced to a 6-0 run to create some separation.

A five-point scoring thanks to Aaron Fuller and Alex Mallari trimmed the lead to just one, but Jayson Castro came up big with a three-pointer to make it a two possession game with 72 ticks to go.

A miss from Alex Mallari and a turnover from Filler gave TNT an opportunity to burn the clock, as Kelly Williams split from the line to put the game out of reach.

Aaron Fuller paced NLEX with 28 points and 18 boards, while Alex Mallari added 19 with nine rebounds and five assists. Larry Fonacier was the only other player in double figures with 10. — BAP, GMA News
