Allen Iverson suspended one game for Big3 no-show in Dallas

NBA

Allen Iverson has been suspended one game by the Big3 for his absence from his team's game last Sunday in Dallas, a league spokesman confirmed Wednesday.

The Big3 is scheduled to appear this Sunday in Lexington, Kentucky.

Iverson issued a statement Tuesday on Instagram, apologizing for not showing up. The former NBA MVP did not explain why he was absent, but said he has spoken with Ice Cube, the league's founder, to provide the reason.

"First and foremost, I apologize to Ice Cube & my Big 3 family, my fans and everyone disappointed by my absence in Dallas this past weekend," Iverson wrote. "I have spoken with Ice Cube directly regarding the details of my absence. I will do my best to make up for this moving forward on the Big 3 tour."

Iverson, 42, signed on as a player and coach of Three's Company for the league's inaugural season. He hasn't been playing very much and didn't play at all in his much-hyped return to Philadelphia last month.
