During last week's epic Game of Thrones episode 'The Spoils of War', Jamie Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) found himself making a pretty desperate (and foolish) move charging Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) only to be pushed out of the way by Bronn (Jerome Flynn) into a very deep lake to avoid Drogon's dragon fire in the cliffhanger ending.

'The Spoils of War' was a huge victory for Game of Thrones amongst all the hacking and leaking drama that that been going on the past couple of weeks, the episode broke records for the fantasy/drama with 10.2 million viewers watching as Jamie plunged into that lake avoiding a fiery grave and (perhaps) sinking into a watery one.

Now, a new post on Refinery29 reveals there is no scientific way Jamie could survive his plunge in the lake. While the water didn't seem that deep at first (his horse was galloping just along the edge) when Bronn pushed Jamie out of the fire and into the lake he seemed to sink into infinity with his full suit of golden Lannister armor on -- not good at all because armor makes in nearly impossible for someone to swim, let alone surface.

A few years ago, filmmaker Michael Bergstrom came across a thread on a forum on myArmoury.com discussing whether or not it's possible to swim in a full suit of heavy plate armor. Since he happened to own a suit of armor, he decided to put it to the test in a swimming pool and found that he could not swim a normal breaststroke, float on his back or push himself to the surface when he left the 5-feet zone and into deeper water (check out the video in the link above). The armor is simply too heavy for the human body to function when trying to swim.

So where does this leave Jamie? According to physics he's in a bad place, but we don't think that final shot of him sinking into the depths is the last time we are going to see Jamie alive. Considering his brother Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) was watching -- and calling him an idiot -- from the sidelines, there's a good chance he's going to send some (unarmored) men out to pull Jamie from the lake.

There's also Bronn, who flew into the lake along with Jamie.  If you noticed throughout the seasons, Bronn never wears heavy metal armor. He mostly dons lighter leather armor which he was luckily wearing when he went into the lake with Jamie, so there's a good chance that Bronn is going to pull Jamie to the surface were Dany will probably force them to bend the knee or burn (which we see her state in the trailer for next week's episode 'Eastwatch').
