“If only he would see her as anything but a brain in oversized black frames.”

Lisa Becker is a new to me author and this was definitely a book that called to me because of the synopsis. I have two passions in life, reading…obviously and golf. Give me a book that is about the both of them and I am immediately sold. I also have a passion for geeks…seeing as I was one myself, so this book had a lot going for it even before I had turned the first page. This was a quick, easy read for me that gave me many a laugh, a lot of smiles, a few frowns but most of all that all-encompassing happy feeling at the end, a definite feel good read.

Charlotte Windham was a geek in school, especially when it came to English Literature. Her best friends twin brothers needed all the help they could get, one to get the grade for medical school, and the other to keep his place on the golf team. As a favour to her bestie, Charlotte tutors the both of them, which is extremely hard for her seeing as she has been crushing on one of the twins for a very long time. Charlotte was your stereotypical geek, nerdy clothes, braces and thick-rimmed glasses…damn this could have been me!

Garrett Stephens was your typical all-star athlete, drop dead gorgeous, all the girls flocked to him and he ran through them like a dose of salts, the typical love ‘em and leave ‘em type. Garrett was young and he made the most of his good lucks and “charming” personality. Tutoring was a chore for him and all he could see was glasses when it came to Charlotte. Garrett never saw the person, the girl, the one that made moony eyes at him whenever they were in each other’s company. Garrett broke Charlotte’s heart without even realising it.

“Yeah. You know me. Love the chase; hate the commitment.”

Fast forward fifteen years, Garrett is an extremely successful professional golfer and Charlotte hit pay dirt with her first novel, both successful in their own right. When they have a chance meeting all those feelings come rushing back for Charlotte, shame Garrett doesn’t remember who she is.

“Oh yeah, because there are a host of smart and handsome men lined up around the corner fighting over me.”

“There probably are. You just aren’t willing to walk down the street…”

Charlotte is like the elephant that never forgets, she hasn’t forgotten Garrett and she certainly has forgotten how she didn’t exist as far as he was concerned. Even fifteen years later every relationship she has had has failed, all because they were no match her first and only love, Garrett. Knowing that she couldn’t suffer that rejection and heart break a second time Charlotte steers clear of Garrett. Charlotte didn’t see what everyone else saw when she looked in the mirror, her self-esteem wasn’t great and she was always down-playing herself. Charley need to find her self-confidence.

This was one of the best “chase’s” I have read in quite a while, Garrett goes all out to prove to Charley that he is a changed man. From establishing a friendship to months of pursuit, Lisa Becker regales the reader with a man desperate to catch the only woman that has made him want more. As much as Garrett irked me in the first instance, he was a hormonal teen but the adult Garrett was a man that will have many women swooning. I loved that Charlotte stuck to her guns even though it was emotionally painful for her, but when these two finally let those lines blur I was jumping up and down.

“Yes! Finally!”

As I said above, this was a real feel good read, one that had me smiling from ear to ear and one that left me with the warm and fuzzies. You cannot ask more from a romance. Loved it and I will definitely be checking out other books by this author.

Charlotte Windham had a huge crush on Garrett Stephens in highschool, tutoring him was the icing on the cake but he never expressed any interest in the girl with glasses. Fifteen years later Charlotte has built a career as a world renowned author and she sees Garrett again but his usual teasing manner stir up old feelings and when Garrett realizes he did wrong he finds himself reconnecting with Charlotte in a way he never believed was possible. Garrett is dealing with a shoulder injury that could end his golfing career can he come to terms with his career and his feelings for Charlotte before he loses everything?

This was a slow build romance. I thought this was quite intriguing with the characters and the way they interacted with one another. The feelings expressed in the writing I thought was spot on and made the story more believable. Great read an I really enjoyed Charlotte, thought she was someone you could definitely look up to.

This wasn’t my favourite friends to lovers book I have ever read but i liked it and it was decent enough.

This follows Charlotte who bumps into her high school crush Garrett after 15 years. During high school Charlotte was your typical geek with braces and glasses and tutored Garret and his brother.

During their high school years, Garret was a complete player and still is. So to protect her feelings, she puts Garret straight into the friend zone.

The conflict in this book was sooo stupid that it made me mad. The way Charlotte just jumped to her own conclusion and then said some horrible things to Garret, girl no. And then he forgave her straight away as if it was nothing. She didn’t even grovel!!!

Anyway, it was a decent book but not one I will read again.

A quick, light and fun read. Seriously this book can be devoured in one sitting. The characters and quick wit banter make you breeze through the pages. All the while laughing and shaking your head at their antics.
A story about second chance romance after 15 years. The story follows Charlotte Windham and Garrett Stephens. In high school, Garrett was the star athlete with dreams of going pro. Charlotte was the not so popular girl tutoring said athlete. But alas high school was a time of unrequited love for Charlotte. Now fast forward 15 years and our high school star has gone pro and our lovable book nerd is a published author. As the fates would have it, these two just happen to bump into one another... and so their tale begins again.
The characters: I don't love them, but I also don't hate them. Garret is a playboy. That alone makes me cringe. Of course as the story goes on, he becomes more of a gentlemen. Still cocky and arrogant though lol. Charlotte almost seemed too good. A published author who helps the inner city kids and donates to charity. Obviously people like that exist, but when you pair both Charlotte and Garrett together, it's a little cheesy. Playboy, star athlete finally sees the wonderfulness of a kind hearted smart bibliophile and decides he must have her. Still a fun read though, especially since the story in filled with puns (sorry I love a good pun) and the writing style was on point. Anyway my favorite character is actually Charlotte's best friend. A lawyer with a bit of sass and plenty of sarcasm and love to go around.
In the grand scheme of things, this contemporary romance is about the chances you didn't get the first time around. I also think it is about starting a new chapter in one's life and letting the past remain in the past. Because to truly move forward with life, you have to stop looking behind you.

Golf pro hero, a book-loving heroine, and an Ugly-Duckling to Swan Friends to Lovers Romance in this standalone slow-burn contemporary gave me several delightful hours of reading.

Charlotte crushed hard on Garrett during high school only to be incidentally noticed by the lowering nickname of 'Glasses'. Now, they are adults and Charlotte is no longer that girl. That is, she isn't that girl to Garrett, but she is in her own mind and what's more she sees Garrett as still that oblivious self-absorbed teen boy. In first person point of view and in altering chapters this pair narrates their way at a gentle pace to friendship, smoldering attraction, and maybe more.

Ordinarily such a thing as an insecure heroine and a playboy hero would not be my thing particularly as Charlotte's tapping the brake and holding the hand brake so much would be too much for my patience. But the author wrote this pair so that I adored them and was cheering for them to get past the hang-ups to something special. Refreshingly, Links allows this pair plenty of time together in platonic activities and really illustrates their deepening friendship balanced with their equally depending interest and attraction. It was worth it to get to that point in the bedroom when its two people who know each other well and it means something.

Incidentally, yes, Garrett is a golf pro, but for those who are not into golf or know little about it, this will not be an issue as the story is mostly about the characters and their romance. Truthfully, there is more focus on Charlotte's career and interests than Garrett's- and trust me booklovers can relate.

All in all, this was a slightly spicy gently paced romance that I can happily recommend to Contemporary Romance fans.

My thanks to the author for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

Garrett Stephens and Charlotte Windham were high school classmates. Garrett was the school's golf champion and Charlotte tutored him to keep his grades up so he wouldn't lose golf team eligibility. Charlotte also had a massive crush of Garrett but he couldn't see past her thick, dark rimmed glasses to notice the girl underneath. 15 years later they meet again, except now Charlotte is a bestselling author and had corrective eye surgery. Garrett instantly likes what he sees but Charlotte doesn't want to risk heartbreak from his playboy style. In Garrett's pursuit of Charlotte, they begin a friendship that allows them to really get to know each other based upon who they are now and not who they were 15 years ago (there are some hard lessons in this process, too).

I loved the characters in this one as well as the friendship that developed between Charlotte and Garrett. Their chemistry was balanced with their platonic activities, laying the foundation for a meaningful, successful relationship. Links is a fun, sweet second chance romance that is perfect for a beach read or an afternoon escape!

This is the first book I have read by Lisa Becker and it won’t be the last. The characters Garrett and Charlotte are some of the best developed characters I have read in a good while.

Charlotte was a a great tutor in high school and now a novelist. She has followed her crush Garrett, professional Gold career and knows he has had a injury that has taken him out of the game. He has not change a bit still the good looking boy she remembers.

Garrett sees how Charlotte has changed her looks are nothing like what he remembers. He wants her and the chase is on in his book. He has to prove to her he has changed and he can be a real friend and not break her heart. But will it work?

I loved the way Charlotte was sexy, nerdy, caring and strong. Garrett gets a second change to win Charlotte over. Really liked these two together.

Wow!! I fell hard for this story and I regret nothing!! ^_^

High school girl has major crush on popular boy, he doesn't even see her as anything but a geek in glasses, 15yrs later they are reunited and he's left with his mouth hanging open. As they say, you can never judge a book by it's cover... and boy did he regret being a jerk in high school. But, boys will be boys, right?!

A second chance romance at it's finest.. sweet, alluring, fun, sexy and romantic. This story is definitely on my top faves list for 2017. How can it not be after this......

"he's still going through women like Hogwarts goes through Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers."

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! LOVE IT!!!!

Go"one-click" and enjoy, it's definitely a book not to be missed.

This was a fantastic audio with dual narration plus I love a second chance romance! Charlotte has been in love with Garrett since she was a teenager tutoring him and his teen brother but he never paid her any attention except to call her “glasses”. Garrett always had a girl and as she said (which had me cracking up) “He goes through women like Hogwarts goes through defense of the dark arts teachers.” That’s an amazing line 🤣
.
Anyway, fast forward years later and Garrett has become a professional
golfer and Charlotte has written the most popular book of the year. She is a huge success but after running into a Garrett she immediately feels like that teenage girl in glasses again, but he sees her truly for the first time and knows she is the woman for him.
.
I really loved these two and their small circle of friends and family. The author did a great job of taking you back to the insecurities of being a teenager and rooting for this couple as adults.

Fabulous Story & Narration🎧 Charming & Heartfelt!

Links
By: Lisa Becker
Narrated by: Connor Crais, Stella Hunter

This fabulous second chance romance features a pro-golfer and an author, the story is well written with interesting storylines that are captivating from start to end. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are easy to care about too. Charlotte ”Charlie” Windham and Garrett Stephens have history, she crushed on him in high school, but he never gave her a second glance, he did not even pay much attention when she tutored him and his twin brother. She saw how he acted with the girls and knew she did not stand a chance with him, besides she was only a nerd and he was part of the popular crowd, she was not sure if he even knew her name. Fast forward to fifteen years later, Charlie is a published author with a best seller under her belt and Garrett is a professional golf player who is recovering from an injury. When they run into each other again, he does not recognize her and when reminded of who she is, he mentions the name he used to call her “Glasses”. Garrett is very interested in getting to know Charlie a little better, but she won’t give him the time of day, she knows he is a player and he is all about the challenge of the chase. Though a man like him never really has to chase but she is worried once she gives in he will lose interest in her. Garrett is determined and won’t give up on her, though she is not the only challenge in his life at the moment, he has his career to worry about too. I loved how everything played out in this book, it is a wonderfully plotted story with the perfect balance of drama, humor, charm, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn romance. Lisa Becker, thank you for another enjoyable and wonderfully entertaining story.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Connor Crais and Stella Hunter do an amazing job bringing these characters to life, and do so with a complete understanding of each of their character’s personas and are believable in every role they play. Connor Crais’ Garrett is spot on, swoon worthy and all. Stella Hunter is a natural in Charlie’s role, grasps her all sides of her personality, including her strength and determination and her insecurities. Both were great performing the roles of the secondary characters too. They set the perfect tone for the story, handle the charming and witty dialogue with ease and landing the humor effortlessly. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they captured all the character’s emotions and projected them into their performance, having you feel every single one. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Although I have heard of the author Lisa Becker, I had yet to read any of her book so when an email landed in my inbox asking if I would be interested in reading and reviewing her latest book I took a chance and said yes. The idea of the story is what initially drew me in, being able to meet an old classmate and be completely different than you were sounds like a dream come true, being able to show how far you have come despite their teasing.

We start Links with Charlotte as she starts a tutoring session with the twins, Garrett and Macus, she sees and hears about what they are up to and the plans Garrett has with his girl of choice. We then jump into the present day, with Charlotte unrecognisable to Garrett, and what follows is a slow friendship the grows between them, as they talk about their past as well as their current situations and learn about each other again.

I really enjoyed reading Links, I loved getting to see how this duo knew each other, and how that affected their lives growing up, especially Charlotte. Seeing how far she has come, and is now a popular author is really inspiring, seeing that she never let it bring her down and how she followed her calling. Garrett was someone who I thought was arrogant, selfish, and a complete player, someone who I never pictured Charlotte to like. I liked seeing this duo reconnect and how they took things slow, getting to know each other as they are now, flaws and all, and really building a great friendship.

The flow of the story felt real and not rushed, which makes this relationship feel more realistic. The character within the pages of Links are unique with their own personalities that make them stand out from each other. Although it took me a few days to read Links, when time allowed I read as much as possible, squeezing in pages whilst cooking and cleaning.

Final Verdict
Links is a relatively quick and light read. I loved some of the comedic moments, and the t-shirts that Charlotte wears with quirky sayings. If there was a sequel or spin off to this book I would not hesitate to read it.

Synopsis: Charlotte Windham, a nerdy high school prodigy who tutored classmates to earn money for college, escapes her geeky past to become a celebrated novelist. During a chance encounter at a Los Angeles restaurant 15 years after high school, she reconnects with her secret crush, Garrett Stephens, the popular star athlete and teen heart breaker. Garrett, still leaving broken hearts in his wake, is now a successful professional golfer who recently suffered a possible career-ending shoulder injury. As he and Charlotte spend time together, developing a friendship based on mutual respect and comfortable companionship, can Charlotte forgive the past and can Garrett reform his lothario ways for a chance at love?

Review: I thought this book was really good. The characters were developed and romance was cute. The writing was well done. I thought the plot was good and I think that this is a really cute book, especially for those who are excited about Valentine’s Day!

However, I do think the romance, while cute, was a bit weird too. I found Charlotte to be a bit obsessive over Garrett and Garrett to be… a bit of a douche to say the least. But I’m really hard on romances. I also thought the pacing was a bit slow.

Verdict: If you want a cute book for Valentine’s Day get this one!

....

This novel was a beautiful love story as it follows Charlotte and Garrett. Years ago Charlotte used to be Garrett’s tutor in his home, and she had a huge crush on him. He didn’t give her the time of day, oblivious to her feelings. Fast forward several years later and their chance encounter in a restaurant. They are now adults, all grown up, and happen to run into one another. Charlotte is nothing like she looked like before.

This story is told in alternating points of view, parts by Charlotte and parts by Garrett. I loved how we got to get a glimpse into how Garrett viewed things and I loved reading from his point of view, as we were able to understand his feelings and his thoughts.

After all this time we learn that Garrett is now attracted to Charlotte. She is successful, beautiful, witty and has a sense of humour that Garrett just loves. But will Charlotte give him the time of day, especially after the ridicule and heartache he caused her all those years ago? Will she be able to let him into her life as more than just a friend, and give a relationship a try?

A fantastic story that I devoured in one day. I enjoyed watching their story unfold, and watching them develop as people. A truly heartwarming story of friendship, love, and forgiveness.

A must read to add to your collection!

Links is the second book by Lisa Becker that I have read. Clutch was the first book and I thought it was funny but this one was even better. It's a standalone book with amazing characters that can banter with the best of them.

Fifteen years. It's been fifteen years since Charlotte has laid eyes on her teenage dream turned adult fantasy in person. She has followed his professional golf career along with the line of supermodel and actress girlfriends. Obviously he hasn't followed hers since he has no idea who she is. She has changed drastically since she last saw him. She might be nerdy at heart but her looks say otherwise. Apparently, he hasn't changed though. He is still the arrogant charmer that he always was and damn her for still feeling shivers running down her body when she is near him. But that's ok. It's not like she is ever going to see him again, right?

Wrong. So very wrong. Garrett wants her. He feels guilty about the day he saw her and now he is going to make it up to her. After all, he always gets what he wants and he wants her in his bed. He loves the chase and from the moment he saw her again, he knew she would be a challenge. What he didn't expect was to want her friendship. She is smart, sarcastic, sexy, and stubborn. But he knows she will be worth the wait. But can he convince her to give him a chance? A real one.

I loved this story. It's light, fun, sexy, and smart. Garrett has to prove he could be a true friend. Charlotte has to fight her feelings for the only man that could truly break her heart. Together, their banter is hilarious. Their friendship is sweet and protective. But can it turn into love?

Overall...it's a fast, funny, sweet, sexy, smart and entertaining read. I love Garrett and Charlotte but I also loved the supporting characters as well. His family is close and it makes for some pretty amazingly fun scenes.

P.S. Charlotte seriously has the best shirts. Ever.

Quotes:

"Yeah. You know me. Love the chase; hate the commitment."

"Promise not to judge me?"
"As you wish."

"Bras, panties and tickle fights, you say?" His eyebrows toggle up and down. "Just give me a sec to get a mental picture.” He closes his eyes, grinning broadly.

I really liked this romance novel! It was a little different as the two main characters, Garrett and Charlotte, took their time in getting to know one another as friends - or learn how each person was today vs when they were in high school. Sure maybe they had some hang ups from that time, but as with anyone, we learn from our past to change the future. I like how both characters saw something more in the other and help pushed for that growth. Of course there were still insecurities to deal with especially on Charlotte's side, but that is part of being human!

There were lots of funny moments that made me smile or giggle. Garrett's family was a bit nuts! And playing "I Never" at the cabin one weekend with the family?! Perhaps a bit TMI...or at least I don't know what to know about intimate details about my siblings. Then there is Fiona (Fi) who is one of Charlotte's best friends from college. Don't mess with her! But she seemed like someone I wouldn't mind having as a friend.

As a side note - there is some graphic language during the part they were playing "I Never"....I personally didn't like the wording but that is my personal taste. The sex scenes are a little graphic in case that offends anyone. There aren't many of those scenes and they are all near the end of the book.

Short synopsis: Brainy High school Charlotte was the tutor for the playboy Garrett Stephens, and she along with every other girl crushed on him. Now Charlotte is an award winning novelist and Garrett a professor golfer. When they run into each other at a restaurant their worlds collide.

My thoughts: I loved the characters Lisa Becker created in this story. High school Charlotte and Garrett took me back to the good ole days when being considered cool and boys were the most important.

I loved watching Charlotte put Garrett in his place when he didn’t recognize her, and enjoyed watching him fall for her.

The multiple POV were written perfectly, and interwove seamlessly together. I also really enjoyed the dual narration, both voice actors did such a wonderful job of bringing their characters to life.

Read if you love:
* Ugly duckling to famous
* Slow burn romance
* Friends to lovers
* I have never game
* One bed

Links is a second chance sports romance with loveable characters and a entertaining storyline. I love the aspect of Garrett Stephens being a professional golfer as you don't find many sports romances with golf professionals. Charlotte Windham being a author makes the story even more fun. Charlotte and Garrett are both compelling characters who you can't help but want to be friends with them. A slow burn romance with the right amount of sweet and spiciness. Supporting characters are fantastic and accentuated the story. I enjoyed the witty banter between the characters. The writing style is solid and the story is believable. A fun read with a bit of angst to keep your toes curled up in a blanket with a cup of coffee by your side.

Links by Lisa Becker is a second chance romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Connor Crais and Stella Hunter.

I absolutely love Lisa’s books! They always leave me with a smile. I loved the relationship that bloomed between Garrett and Charlotte. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

Connor and Stella did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like second chance romances or contemporary romances.

Charlotte Windham has finally escaped her geeky and awkward past with the publication of her first novel. Except her past comes roaring back at her when she runs into her high school crush, Garrett Stephens. Garrett is now a famous professional golfer and a serial dater. He wants Charlotte in a bad way but she wasn't born yesterday and insists on them just being friends. The more time they spend together as friends the more their friendship threatens to morph into something serious. Can Charlotte trust Garrett with her heart?
This was my first book by Lisa Becker but it definitely won't be my last. At first I was a little concerned about the alternating first person POV but Becker meshes them together perfectly to give insights into each of her characters. Her snappy dialogue between Garrett and Charlotte had me smiling and laughing to myself.
I loved how Becker perfectly captured Charlotte 's insecurities. Despite her recent success, Charlotte is still that introverted geek that doubts her self worth. Charlotte simply can't believe that someone like Garrett would want her and it almost sabotages their relationship.
At first I wasn't sure if I would like Garrett. He was extremely cocky and all about chasing that next female conquest. The more time he spent with Charlotte though, the more I liked him. By the end of the book I was cheering him on in convincing Charlotte to commit to a permanent relationship.
Links by Lisa Becker is a standalone novel. Becker has spun a wonderful story about second chance romance that will have you smiling and wishing this was a series. If you enjoy contemporary romance, this would be an enjoyable book for you.

Lisa Becker transitions smoothly into the contemporary romance world with Links, a story of first crushes given a second chance in adulthood. Fifteen years after first laying eyes to her first crush, Garrett, Charlotte finds herself once again linked to the young boy would unknowingly stole her heart. Her nerdy heart still sighs at the sight of this professional golfer. Garrett hasn’t changed one bit though, except this time he notices that innocent wallflower.

Links is a sweet and sexy read that definitely worth your one click! Garrett and Charlotte’s hilarious banter alone makes Links a perfect read. Becker’s struck gold with this captivating, well written novel filled with humor, romance and a great plot line!

Many thanks to Lisa Becker for my complimentary audiobook.

This was such a cute and fun listen. Second chance romance is always a winner with me. I enjoyed all the pop culture references but my favorite was
“Have fun storming the castle”. I say that one to my kids all the time ! Not sure if everyone will get it.

Not overly steaming but a nice slow burn to make it worthwhile. I thought the narrators made a great team ! Looking forward to working the other books in the series into my TBR

A second chance romance following the story of Pro-Golf Player Garrett and nerdy, best time seller, Charlotte. After growing up together and seeing each other again decades later, Garrett has to convince Charlotte he’s not the teenager he used to be.

Overall it was an enjoyable romance. I wished the ending was a bit longer but otherwise it was a fast, quick read.

Thank you to Lisa Becker for providing me with an audiobook to listen to in exchange for a review.

They met in high school. She was the ugly smart girl now she is a famous best selling author. He is a golf pro. After a chance meeting in a restaurant the reconnect and live happens.

I will say if he is supposed to accept her and how she has changed she needed to believe him and give him more of a chance to do so.

Hallmark Movie in a book! Sweet story with characters I found myself rooting for. A little spicy in parts but not too bad.

DNF

I'm having problems connecting to the characters.

I do like Becker's writing so maybe I'll come back to it after a bit of a break.

I am not usually a romance reader, but when I do read it, I always choose a rom-com (to lighten things up between my darker reads!) 𝙇𝙞𝙣𝙠𝙨 is a second-chance romance with a bit of unrequited love thrown in… my favorite romance troupe!

The story moves quickly and provides a really enjoyable short listen. I enjoyed the storyline and the conversation! I also liked both of the main characters, especially Charlotte. I was able to finish this one in an afternoon!

The author does a good job developing both main characters through their back stories which led them to where they are today. Lovers of romance stories (with a little spice) looking for a quick read with an entertaining storyline will certainly enjoy this one!

Thank you @letstalkbookspromo @authorlisabecker for my gifted audiobook. My thoughts are my own.

I recieved this book as an ARC for an honest opinion from the author.

My take on this book: Links by Lisa Becker is another wonderful book. Ms. Becker is a wonderful author that can transport you into her stories, that once you leave you just want to hop right back into it to keep on living with the amazing characters.

Speaking of amazing characters, I felt like I was best friends with both Garrett Stephens and Charlotte Windham. Granted I probably felt more like a best friend to Charlotte more than Garrett but seeing from both sides of their perspective in this book made it seem like anyone could be friends with both of them.

Charlotte Windham is the main character, and the main female lead, of this book and she, is such a wonderful character. She makes you fall in love with her and want to be her best friend. The entire time of this book she knew about Garrett’s past of being a player back in high school and thought he was the same now that they are adults especially, due to the number of girlfriends that he has had. She also changed from what she looked like in high school but she never really got over her insecurities. She was still thinking that Garrett is the same boy that she had a crush on back in high school without realizing that he was doing things with her that he has never done with any of his past girlfriends at all. She took a while to figure out that she was worth his attention and love. It was wonderful to see her open herself up to those possibilities.

Garrett Stephens is the main male lead of this book and he is also such a wonderful character. At first, you hate him for not realizing that Charlotte is there in his house and then to also not recognize her when we are in his first perspective. He would be clueless if his sister didn't tell him. The further you get into the story, though, the more you realize that oh hey he isn’t that such of a bad guy. I especially liked when he wants to protect Charlotte from all the harm that has happened to her when he wasn’t around. He tries to protect her now from anyone that doesn’t want to say anything nice to her. I also truly enjoyed Garrett changing and trying to be a good person for Charlotte. It was like I was there watching the story unfold.

The copy I received had some mistakes here and there with words being in the wrong spot or the author’s editor made a change that wasn’t taken out before it was sent as the was an ARC copy. Besides those things, which weren’t bad enough to take me out of the book. The words just fixed themselves in my head.

I am giving this book a five-star review because it was totally awesome and I am still having a little bit of a book hangover over as it was that good.

Links by Lisa Becker was such an awesome book and I can’t wait to read another book by Ms. Becker. She is an outstanding author and an even better storyteller that makes you, at least for me, feel like you are a part of the book and hanging out with her characters.

Anyways until the next time enjoy this review brought to you by
