Abstract: Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of hypofractionated conformal radiotherapy and conventional conformal radiotherapy in non-small cell lung cancer. Method 68 cases of patients with non-small lung cancer were en-rolled and divided into two groups using a random number table, with 34 cases in each group. The patients in control group were given conventional conformal radiotherapy, while the patients in study group were given hypofractionated conformal radiotherapy. The short term clinical efficacy, incidence of adverse reactions and survival rates were compared between two groups. Result The total effective rate of study group was 94.1%, significantly higher than that of the con-trol group (73.5%) (P<0.05). The 3-and 5-year survival rate in study group was 88.2%and 58.8%, both higher than those in control group (64.7%, 32.4%, P<0.05). Stage-stratified survival rates were calculated for two groups, the results showed:in early stage (stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ) patients, the survival rate of study group was better than that of control group (P<0.05);in intermediate and locally advanced patients (stage Ⅲ), the differences did not reach statistically significance (P>0.05). When stratified by tumor volume, the survival rate of study group was higher than that of control group for patients with tumor volume ≤90 cm3 (P<0.05), and there was no significant difference found between study group and control group for non-small cell lung cancer patients with tumor volume>90 cm3 (P>0.05). The incidence of adverse reaction was 32.4%in study group and 38.2%in control group, and the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). Conclu-sion Hypofractionated conformal radiotherapy has achieved a satisfactory clinical efficacy in non-small cell lung can-cer, can effectively improve survive rate of the patients and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions, and is worthy of clinical application.
