Second half goals from Tammy Abraham and Leroy Fer earned Swansea City a 2-0 win in their penultimate pre-season clash against Birmingham City at St Andrew's.

Harry Redknapp's side brimmed with confidence early on, with Craig Gardner and Cheikh Ndoye dominating the midfield.

And it was the latter who had the first real chance as he drilled a low shot towards goal from 25-yards out, but Lukasz Fabianski got down low to his right to palm clear.

The Swans soon settled and enjoyed plenty more of the ball, but struggled to threaten David Stockdale in the Birmingham goal.

But the travelling fans thought they had reason to cheer just after the half hour mark as Mike van der Hoorn headed home from Tom Carroll's corner, but referee Tim Robinson penalised the Dutchman for a foul.

Having gone close 10 minutes earlier, Paul Clement's men should have gone into the break a goal ahead when Jay Fulton was played through on goal, but the midfielder curled his effort well over on the stroke of half time.

Swansea flew out of the traps after the restart and - having missed a golden chance minutes earlier - Abraham opened the scoring when he prodded home Fer's cross on 56 minutes, despite the best efforts of Stockdale.

Clement's half-time words had certainly done the trick as Martin Olsson proved to be a real menace on the left wing, almost setting up Abraham for his second while the striker then fed Fulton whose shot was well stopped by Stockdale.

And the visitors' pressure eventually paid off as Fer's 25-yard shot deflected off Marc Roberts and into the back of the net.

Birmingham pressed in search of a consolation effort late on, but the Swans had done the damage to secure victory with plenty to spare.
