3 World Trade Center nears the finish line in the Financial District

A little over a year after 3 World Trade Center topped out, new construction site photos obtained by YIMBY show that the 80-story building has now been mostly fitted with its glass facade.

The photos make it seem like the building will open any day now, but 1,079-foot skyscraper isn’t scheduled to open until the spring of 2018. Designed by Richard Rogers of Rogers, Stirk Harbour + Partners, the building will be the fifth tallest skyscraper in New York City upon its completion.

Developed by Silverstein Properties, the building will be home to advertising giant GroupM, at least among the tenants that we know of so far. The company has leased 700,000 square feet of space at the office tower.

Aside from that, this 2.5 million square foot building will also have five floors of retail: three above ground, and two below. A host of tenants have already signed on for these prime retail spots including Ladurée, Tiffany’s, the first American outpost of British steakhouse Hawksmoor, Bose, Tissot, and Mont Blanc.
