Last Man on Earth: Chris Elliott to guest, Kristen Wiig to recur in season 4

Get ready for a new face to come aboard The Last Man on Earth.

Chris Elliott will guest-star in multiple episodes of Fox’s post-apocalyptic comedy as Glenn, a castaway living on a deserted island, EW has learned exclusively. Phil (Will Forte) and his fellow survivors come in contact with Glenn presumably as they take to the sea and make their way south to escape the failing nuclear plants in the U.S. The Schitt’s Creek star (who also headlined the sea-based cult comedy Cabin Boy) will make his first appearance on Last Man in the second episode of season 4.

Elliott — the Get A Life vet who also starred in the Adult Swim series Eagleheart — has also popped up this year on Friends From College and Fresh off the Boat. A frequent presence on Late Night With David Letterman and Late Show With David Letterman, he had recurring roles on How I Met Your Mother and Everybody Loves Raymond, and appeared in Something About Mary and Groundhog Day.

Meanwhile, Kristen Wiig, who appeared twice in season 3 as socialite-turned-crazy-bunker-lady Pamela, will be back in at least three episodes, including the premiere. She was last seen in the final scene of the season 3 finale, killing Pat (Mark Boone Junior) as he prepared to shoot Phil, and that’s where the action will pick up in the season 4 premiere.

The SNL and Bridesmaids alum, who was most recently seen in Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later, hits the big screen later this year in the Darren Aronofsky mystery mother! and the Alexander Payne satire Downsizing.

Season 4 of Last Man on Earth kicks off Oct. 1.
