Also new to Samsung computer systems, as I always used VAIO in the past. So far I'm happy with my purchase, I will update in a few months. I hope Samsung wont disappoint me.

No problems whatsoever with this laptop. Samsung never disappoints with most of their tech, and this laptop is no slouch. Its been able to hand whatever I throw at it, including heavy video processing. The touch screen is responsive, the entire OS as a whole is responsive, even with Samsung software ingrained. It's nice if you have a Samsung phone, you can sync texts, photos, etc without an issue. One thing I'd recommend is swapping the HDD out with an SSD. You will notice a VAST difference. I boot to windows in 3 seconds from a cold startup.

I have been using this laptop for about 4 months now, and I am incredibly pleased with it. The screen is clear and bright, and I find myself using the touchscreen much more than the mouse during casual use (web browsing, Spotify selection, etc). However the touch pad is quite nice to use. I actually like the short travel on the keyboard. It's very similar to my Surface Pro Type Cover. Others may require some time to get used to it. I love and make use of it's many ports. HDMI output is seamless and simple, and a hot key combo puts a touch menu on the screen that allows quick selection of screen mirroring, extension, or turning off either display...a feature I find convenient when I watch movies on a projector. The laptop makes little noise. Even when being stressed I don't notice any fan noise. I have also not noticed any considerable heat from the bottom....although I seldom use it on my lap. I did add an m.2 SSD to the extra port to go along with the hard drive. That obviously made a significant speed boost. With the SSD my boot times are under 20 seconds including typing in my login password. My only complaint would be the bios. It lacks most features I would expect to see in a premium device. Other than that I really do love this laptop, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a capable machine for productivity, creation, and light gaming.

I went to purchase a Dell 15" laptop and comparing side by side this model was $50.00 less and specs offered much more. The only thing lacking was the SSD but that was not a deal breaker for me. The functional and required 10 key was and so I went with this Samsung. Fast and efficient! Crisp, clear screen. Tons of storage. Purchased for work and as always Samsung comes through.

I am currently working on an advanced degree. This computer is fast and can handle the statistical program that I have to use. The touch is great and tablet mode is awesome. I purchased a stylus so that I can use the Windows Pen feature and it is amazing (Bamboo Ink will not work so be forewarned). Highly recommend!!!

This is my second Samsung laptop and it doesn't disappoint. For the price (sub $1K) it's hard to get a laptop with comparable specs. The computer is fast, multitasks well and does everything I can throw at it. I have another laptop that uses only the graphics processor on the motherboard, and having a dedicated graphics card is absolutely a must. While I wish it had an SSD, that is something that can be upgraded in the future. The previous Samsung laptop lasted 7 years and has only been retired due to a lack of driver support due to it's age. I have high hopes for this one.

Got this on an "open box" discount off bestbuys website. Paid about half or original retail price. Its a great laptop especially at that price. The 1tb hd is big enough but sometimes it lags at booting. The build quality is great except the keys are a little loud and have a little more travel than I personally prefer. I didnt know how much I would care about the hinge that allows you to fold the screen all the way back. Its a little too bulky and awkward to fold back all the way and use like a tablet. However its great for reading because you have alot of space. And its great to fold and watch movies.

Fast, Long battery life, Love the touch screen, Really really really like the keyboard. Also like how the back lit keyboard shines through the letters on the keys.
