In the city of stars, Emma Stone's paycheck shines bright.
Forbes has officially named the La La Land star the highest-paid actress in the world, after she earned $26 million through a 12 month-period.
She made most of that money from the Academy Award winning La La Land, which raked in $445.3 million globally, Forbes reported.
Stone recently spoke out about the gender pay gap in Hollywood, revealing that her male co-stars have taken a pay cut to achieve parity with her.
Speaking on the issue, she said:
"In my career so far, I’ve needed my male co-stars to take a pay cut so that I may have parity with them. And that’s something they do for me because they feel it’s what’s right and fair. That’s something that’s also not discussed, necessarily—that our getting equal pay is going to require people to selflessly say, “That’s what’s fair.” If my male co-star, who has a higher quote than me but believes we are equal, takes a pay cut so that I can match him, that changes my quote in the future and changes my life."
Following Stone in the top five on the earnings list are Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lawrence, Melissa McCarthy and Mila Kunis.
Lawrence, who formerly topped the Forbes list, earned $24 million, while Aniston earned $25.5 million. McCarthy, who's been wooing Saturday night TV viewers with her rendition of former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer, earned $18 million.
Kunis meanwhile earned $15.5 million, and Emma Watson earned the sixth spot on the list, earning $14 million.
