Plan International Ethiopia is looking for Caring for Venerable Children (CVC) Project Lead to be based at Country Office.
Dimensions of Role: (Major Responsibility)
Serve as link between Plan International Ethiopia & CVC Project. Partners (FHI 360, Retrak, ESSSWA and government line Offices).
Responsible for implementation of Economic Security & Education components as stipulated in agreement signed between parties.
Provide leadership to staff under Plan’s obligations.
Lead the implementation of the CVC strategy and monitor and refine the strategy based on feedback.
Coordinate and lead the planning, implementation and reporting of the CVC Project in selected six Rejoins & 126 districts to benefit HIV infected and affected children & care givers.
Utilize Plan International Ethiopia’s well established and documented working relationship with the GOE and grass root communities.
Work with Local Implementing Partners to ensure they have adequate care expertise, and are adhering to acceptable standards and guidelines.
Build the technical Capacity of the implementing partners and government’s staff, Specialists, Coordinators, district offices volunteers at Kebele levels.
The post holder will be responsible to oversee the CVC project implementation and budget managed by Plan International Ethiopia and will also report to CVC Project in FHI 360.
The post holder will support the management of project activities and supervises staff assigned in Country & Regional Offices (Addis Ababa, Amhara, Oromia, SNNPR. Tigray & Dire Dawa).
The post holder is responsible to manage project design, planning, implementation and monitoring and evaluation.
She/he will ensure a smooth working environment and teamwork within Plan International Ethiopia, the respective field staff and across the CVC project.
Key components of the position include operationalization of the project activities under Plan International Ethiopia’s role (Education & EEC components), advocacy and networking, developing and strengthening partnerships and team management.
The post holder will be based at the CVC Ethiopia Office/Headquarters, Addis Ababa with close link to Plan International Country Office.
Develop standard guidelines, tools and ensure the utilization to result in quality and standardized delivery of programs.
Coordinate the activities of regional teams and partners in the implementation of OVC activities through systematic mechanisms and platforms
Support strategy development, ongoing supportive supervisions, quality assessments and monitoring and evaluation activities
Educational Qualification and Experience
Master’s degree in Education, Economics, Agriculture, Health Promotion & Communications, Development studies, Social Work, or a related fields.
A minimum of five years of demonstrated success / experience in managing Education or Economic Empowerment projects.
Previous experience of managing and developing a multi-disciplinary team.
Knowledge
Extensive knowledge on Education & Economic Security including knowledge of Health Policies and guidelines on HIV infected Children & care givers is essential
Understand organisational principles, systems and have the ability to provide leadership and support to staff working at community level.
Understanding of integrated development issues, participatory approaches to development, child-rights programming, participatory Monitoring, Evaluation and Research systems and processes preferred
Working experience with USAID funded projects advantageous
