Armed with pure passion and the mission to “Go Green”, entrepreneurs and eco warriors, Fazli Shah bin Simpon and Ilmi Shukri binti Khodori came together to form FS Design Furniture Sdn Bhd in 2012 to contribute to a greener environment through sustainable furniture. Today, this Malaysian company is renowned as one of the prime manufacturers and suppliers of commercial grade furniture for homes, restaurants, condominiums, projects and commercial spaces in the region – with collections that come with a green edge.
“We deliver luxury, style and innovation in one beautiful package,” say the founders. “Beautiful design elements, comfortable and functional furniture, and a wide range of choices meet the environmentally responsible mission of going green. In our green collection, we use reclaimed wood from old doors, windows and old houses. These beautiful and innovative products combine clean design and functionality and are made from sustainable, organic and recycled materials. This proves going green does not exclude good taste, style, comfort and value.”
While there’s a broad variety of wood furniture brands and products to choose from in Malaysia, what makes FS Design Furniture Sdn Bhd stand out from rest is their collection which is meticulously crafted using salvaged wood. Quality materials are keys to ensure originality, durability and creativity in their collections.
FS Design Furniture Sdn Bhd only uses high grade raw materials such as solid timbers – Douglas fir, Meranti and Nyatoh, high quality fabrics, stainless steel, metal and glass. They also have a production facility of 12,000 square feet with the capacity to produce up to 2 units of 40 ft containers per month with a highly experienced team of craftsmen, welders, quality control manager and furniture finishing specialists in Hulu Langat, Selangor.
“Our product is a resemblance of unique industrial and modern furniture that emphasize trendy design as well as quality handcrafted workmanship. We also hold tight to our positive attitude of striving hard to make every piece a masterpiece that is often beyond customer expectations,” they explain, adding that they are currently expanding and creating even more quality furniture to meet market demands. The company also works with a wide clientele which includes architects, interior decorators and contractors to produce new designs and reduce costs in production and procurement of furniture.
Even with a strong clientele, the founders share that they are relentless in looking for ways to move their company forward. One of those ways is working with the Malaysian Timber Industry Board (MTIB) to gain more knowledge about the wood furniture business and industry.
The founders add that MTIB also provided them with valuable information that has helped them to market their company and products more effectively, especially new knowledge regarding the import and export industry. Above all, MTIB has furnished them with ideas, suggestions, benefits and facilities which really helped their business. For example, the suggestion they received from MTIB to participate in expos has assisted them a lot in increasing sales.
Equipped with all the right tools and information, FS Design Furniture Sdn Bhd is geared to offer clients even better products and services in the near future. Expansion of their product line is also in the pipeline – all with their eco-friendly mission in mind.
