REVEALED: The top 10 irritating habits Britons find in their partners
NEW research shows couples will show their bad habits within TWO weeks of starting a relationship.
The beginning of a relationship, known as the “honeymoon phase”, tends to be hassle-free, with lovers showing only praise for each other.
However a survey by Vapourlites.com revealed Britons' bad habits start creeping up just a fortnight into their new relationships.
For women the number one irritating habit in a partner is smoking, while men don't like their significant other spending too much time on their phone.

While some traits may look quirky and even “endearing” to your partner when you first meet, soon they could be reason enough to pick a fight.
And when it comes to coping with these pet hates, it can become rather intense.
There are countless “unhealthy” and “irritating” habits that are much to the annoyance of both parties.
Vapourlites.com surveyed 846 women and 827 men to discover what habits men and women find off putting about each other.
For women the main concern is their partner's health and hygiene, closely followed by their level attention to details.
Cancelling plans or the infamous “selective hearing” are one of the most irritating traits women find in partners.
Men, however, seem to dislike the traits associated with women: taking too long to get ready, or being too much into their looks could be a potential turn off.
Smoking can be off putting for both genders, however women placed it as the number one most irritating habit (26 per cent) while men placed it third (14 per cent).

Holly, 23, was not aware of her boyfriend’s smoking habits when they started dating.
She said: “It was a big issue at the start, as he kind of hid it from me when we first got together.
"It was something I was not able to get used to, and although he tended not to smoke in front of me, the smell was always there, and the health implications was what frustrated me the most.
She says she finally managed to convince her loved one to stop smoking, which means one less disagreement for the couple.
"It is a massive relief for both myself and him, as it was something we would disagree on, on a regular basis.”
Susan Whitbourne, PHD, wrote on Psychology Today that less favoured habits can overall effect intimacy in partners.
These habits which individuals possess, can affect issues on a larger scale.
Dr Whitbourne further cites that “if the relationship was only barely holding together, these tiny infractions snowballed into much larger issues that could threaten the relationship to its core.”
Habits women find the most off putting in a relationship:
1. Smoking - 26 per cent
2. Forgetting/Cancelling Plans - 19 per cent
3. Betting - 14 per cent
4. Drinking too much - 11 per cent
5. Obsessing over sport – 8 per cent
6. Selective hearing - 6 per cent
7. Leaving toilet seat up - 5 per cent
8. Bad driving - 3 per cent
9. Flatulence - 2 per cent
10. Taking ages on the toilet- 1 per cent
Habits men find the most off putting in a relationship:
1. Spending too much time on their phones - 17 per cent
2. Spending ages getting ready - 15 per cent
3. Smoking - 14 per cent
4. Drinking too much - 11 per cent
5. Gossiping about their friends and family - 10 per cent
6. Obsessing over their looks - 8 per cent
7. Spending too much money shopping - 6 per cent
8. Taking too many photos- 5 per cent
9. Taking up too much wardrobe space - 4 per cent
10. Swearing – 2 per cent
