Take on the 'Justice League' trailer shot by shot
The League unites for battle scenes, hair flips and a mysterious appearance by a certain somebody in the final frame. We slow down the new trailer and take a closer look.
Focusing the Bat-Signal
Commissioner Gordon sends up the Bat-Signal. Hey wait, does J.K. Simmons even get to show off his much-hyped buff bod in this trailer? If not, we call shenanigans.
Cyborg suits up
Cyborg (Ray Fisher) looks pretty impressive in this trailer.
Get us out from under, Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman makes an appearance. It was also announced on Saturday that she'll be getting a sequel, "Wonder Woman 2," and to no one's surprise, Gal Gadot is back to star.
Ruler of the seas
Aquaman (Jason Momoa) has the badass five-pointed trident (quindent?) seen in the comics. Really, he barely needs it.
Speed it up
Flash (Ezra Miller) shows off his superhuman speed.
Sign of the bat
Batman (Ben Affleck) spots his signal. Though there were rumors that Affleck would be giving up the part, he made it clear at the Comic-Con panel that he's not going anywhere.
Um, sir? You can't take that through -- sir?
When an unidentified someone with a giant gun strides through a metal detector without stopping, who you gonna call? No, not the Ghostbusters, silly.
Field trip turns fiendish
The gunman strides by as a group of schoolgirls and their teachers attempt to take cover. Countdown to an Amazon arrival in one ... two ...
In through the out door
And ... there she is.
Who's faster than a speeding bullet, again?
Oh, seriously, people -- you need to learn that shooting a bullet at Wonder Woman is like gently tossing a Frisbee at a regular person.
Gotta keep the day job
Wonder Woman plays the innocent card; cleaning a statue, discussing her boring weekend.
Big hairy deal
Every good fight should close with a hair flip. Remember this -- someone else has a pretty good hair flip later on.
I read the news today, oh boy
The Daily Planet headline reminds us we're still mourning Superman.
How things stand
Batman balances on one creepy-looking gargoyle.
Something wicked this way comes
Back on Diana's home island of Themyscira, the Amazons are guarding a Mother Box (a kind of living computer) when suddenly, a boom tube (an extraterrestrial portal, associated with Cyborg in comics) opens up.
Royal trouble
Connie Nielsen's Queen Hippolyta braces for the bad scene about to unfold.
Game of thrones, again?
This looks to us like Aquaman swimming towards a throne, with someone else seated on it.
At home in the water
Sure, maybe you can open your eyes underwater, but not like Aquaman. He doesn't even need Visine.
Glass houses
Flash smashes through a window at super-speed.
The truth shall set you free
"Honestly, I think we're all gonna die," says Aquaman bluntly. Naw, too many sequels and solo films already lined up.
Those were the days
"One misses the days when one's biggest concerns were exploding, windup penguins," says Batman's loyal pal Alfred (Jeremy Irons).
Axe-tually
Steppenwolf's axe is pretty terrifying. Here, he strikes the ground and breaks out rivers of lava.
Windows 95?
A great shot of Cyborg at a broken window.
Faster than a speeding bullet
Flash in motion.
Ready for battle
Flash shows himself the newbie of the group more than once in the trailer. Here, as the other main four strut impressively, he whispers, "It's really cool you guys seem ready to do battle and stuff, but I've never done battle..."
Flash needs training wheels
"...I've just pushed some people and run away," Flash explains to Batman.
Underwater battle
Looks like Steppenwolf isn't going to let Atlantis alone, but Aquaman might have something to say about that.
Face it
Just including this for Wonder Woman's awesome pre-punch facial expression.
And then the follow-through
You go, Wonder Woman.
Red sky at night
Batman caught in impressive midleap.
Hitching a ride
A pair of parademons attempt to hitch a ride on the back of the Batmobile.
All the queen's horses
The battle in Themyscira looks a little like a Dothraki fight from "Game of Thrones." Anyone know what Khal Drogo is doing these days?
Flash comes through
When Wonder Woman can't quite reach her sword in midair, Flash gives her a little assistance.
Thanks, Flash
I get by with a little help from my friends.
Sharp move
In a pretty cool sequence, Aquaman stabs a parademon he's battling in midair, and rides the body down to safety.
Big fat hairy deal
Promised you another hair flip, and here it is.
Guess who?
And in the final scene, Alfred says, "You said you'd come. Now let's hope you're not too late." Do you see the outline of a broad-shouldered dude, perhaps one wearing a red cape? Just us, then?
