Scientist Will Rodman is determined to find a cure for Alzheimer's, the disease which has slowly consumed his father. As an Ape Enjoyer I decided to finally watch this series. Great ape content in this one. Human plotlines are really predictable and dumb tho. Apes together strong

It’s just dawned on me that the second act of this movie is basically Monkey Shawshank Redemption. Kino cinema, and an introduction to one of the best film characters in modern history. Andy Serkis supremacy
Rise of the Planet of the Apes starts and stops with the emotional-motion capture acting ability of Andy Serkis. He’s a master of his trade, a pleasure to watch and what he does with the Caesar character is Oscar worthy, if it was legal to nominate him. He’s the heart and soul of the film, and without him, the movie wouldn't be the same.
I’m amazed how the apes look. It’s a wonderful combination of special effects and motion capture. I love the growth in Caesar’s personality, the boss daddy pimpness of Maurice and the bad boy motherfuckerism™ of Koba. The action scenes with the apes are as thrilling as they come.
For some strange reason, James Franco doesn’t appear…
This is how it's done. It has the perfect amount of character development and action, it doesn't forsake characters for the next big action scene, every action scene feels like the result of what we've just experienced, learned and felt by closely following these characters, rather than randomly having an action scene pasted in there out of nowhere, without any reasons or consequences. Here everything happens for a good reason, and everything has serious consequences with real weight behind them. Because of this the movie acquires something that many other movies of this type lack, and that is depth. Another aspect that contributes to this is the way director Rupert Wyatt chooses to communicate the story through evocative visual cues…
