The British Academy of Film and Television Arts on Wednesday said Pippa Harris, a producer of Jarhead and BBC series Call the Midwife, has been elected deputy chair.
Jane Lush will continue as chair of the Academy for the remainder of her two-year term, with Harris, who previously served as chair of the organization’s film committee, becoming her deputy. Harris co-founded Neal Street Productions, now owned by All3Media, with Sam Mendes, who directed Jarhead.
Marc Samuelson has been elected chair of BAFTA’s film committee, having held the position of deputy chair for two years. Alison Thompson is the new deputy chair.
Krishnendu Majumdar has been reelected for a second two-year term as chair of the television committee, with Hannah Wyatt serving as deputy chair.
All sector committee chairs and deputy chairs are directors of the Academy and sit on its board of trustees.
Said Lush: “I’m delighted to welcome the new trustees to our board, and am thrilled to be working closely with Pippa Harris in her new role as deputy chair of the Academy.”
