TROWBRIDGE families can get fit and fed and meet a champion athlete this summer at free sessions to encourage children to play sport and eat healthily.

The free sessions, run by Wiltshire Council, will be held at Studley Green Primary School from 11am to 2pm on August 17 and 24. Para badminton world number one and European champion, Dan Bethell, will visit Studley Green to meet people at the session on Thursday, August 24.

Mr Bethell said: “I'm delighted to support this programme. I know the importance good nutrition and activity plays in my life on my pathway to the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, so it is great this programme is helping to support families to learn new skills to balance both.”

The ‘Get Fit and Fed’ programme is available for children aged five and over and their families, and aims to encourage people to be more active and to eat healthily.

Young people and their families will be able to prepare a healthy hot meal, get advice on healthy eating, and take part in fun games and sports activities.
