The Brooklyn Nets signed restricted free agent Otto Porter to an offer sheet Thursday night, but there wasn't much chance he was going to play for them next season. As expected, the Washington Wizards have decided to match the four-year, $106.5 million max offer sheet to retain Porter, according to Candace Buckner of The Washington Post.

The Wizards had until 11:59 p.m. Saturday to match the offer, and reportedly have completed the act with time to spare. Porter averaged a career-high 13.4 points and 6.4 rebounds last season while shooting 43 percent from 3-point range, good for fourth in the NBA.

According to TNT's David Aldridge, Porter still has to pass his physical so the match technically won't go through until early next week, but it's essentially done. Porter will rejoin John Wall, Bradley Beal, Markieff Morris and Marcin Gortat to reunite one of the league's most effective starting lineups.
