Slimmed yes. Like the D750 and D7500??? NOOOOOOO!!!! Like the D300 was slimmed to the D500. YES. Please. Slimmed, but not so much it's a consumer level body, not a pro/prosumer body. But we've seen the pictures, the body is done, and thankfully it looks fully pro.

A D500 like body, but full frame is ideal.

I'm hoping for an "A" model as in Astrophotography, like the D810 had. This time round I will go with that.

Carbon fibre body, detachable rear OLED screen, EVF with tilt, OBIS, 10% improved sensor. Now add SSD grip, nice starting point.

The FZ1000 type machines ergonomics are OK, yes, but even they failed to realize the need for the gun-camera design with the much smaller but very good 1" sensor, though they provide, as do the others single-frame capture on their camcorders.

Canon and others have gone through series of hybrid designs that discard camcorder ergonomics, demanding tripod use, to their detriment and at great cost, and REDs r too big to use for stills

So we are NOT being consulted at all, not actually in there at the design stage and before, because so many machines are bigger and heavier than they need be. Phones are just as bad- I want a blotter shape not sliced bread! The Blotter shape |) is cradled in-hand with depth for 4/3rds sensor and w/a fast lenses (stereo pairs)

Good question someone else asks: Will it work with Capture NX2? What a let-down that was when I upgraded to the D750! Fortunately someone had a workaround which he was kind enough to make available (NEF4NX2). I probably couldn't buy the D850 if I can't continue with Capture NX2 - big extra expense, major learning curve with other software. Will it have colour control points?

I was hand holding a Panasonic G7 with the 14-140 ii lens. Considering the capability, it's a very light rig. But by he end of 40 minutes my arms were tired anyway! Beefy DSLR? I couldn't have done it without a tripod - and that's tough to use as a guest.

Why not CFast rather than XQD. I would think that CFast cards are more readily available? Am I wrong?

Let's not pop the cork before we see anything real! It may go the way of the DL!. The fact that a new groundbreaking product was absent form the 100 year anniversary says something about the vitality of a company.

Also now with Lexar dumping it's XQD cards I'm wondering about the life expectancy of those cards. Also just saw the price of a Sony XQD card incredibly expensive.

A massaging hand grip would be nice.

A D850 in a black DF2 body.

On-sensor PDAF artifacts? Thanks for pointing that out, I wasn't aware of it. So far Nikon hasn't used this technology (except on the Series 1). Perhaps they have developed a solution.

Illuminated controls is a great idea. Why hasn't anybody implemented it yet, or have they?

It would be nice to also create a wish list for an updated Canon 6D-II that Canon could incorporate in the current 6D-II in a year or less.
Just another wish on my mind, and a bit of hope that Canon would redeem themselves and come up with an update for the 6D-II.

Very disappointed with the 6D-II, and, for now, it is not on my shopping list, and won't be unless it is significantly updated.

I'd very much like it if Nikon get the video part right. Why is it always so flawed? In many respects my phone does a better job than my D750. The autofocus is especially frustrating. I upgraded from a D700 to a D750 mainly for the video capabilities but the flaws have left it practically useless to me. That darned focus hunting back and forth across the full range of the lens has spoiled more simple takes than I care to remember. And the 60FPS ... something wrong with that too. If you shoot at 60FPS and then convert the vid to 30 for slow motion, it just goes jumpy. Not even my phone does that. Also, the control over the video function is too limited.
I'll consider upgrading to the D850 if this sort of thing is fixed. Otherwise, I'm wondering if I need to abandon Nikon. I don't want to have to carry a second camera around for video.

Just mix the best specs of a D810 and A7R2, and add the missing video features of the GH5 and photo features of the O-EM1II. The A7R3 won't be too far away from that and will have the advantage of a universal mount. This is why a future mirrorless D850 should come with a flexible mount solution that makes it at least possible to use EF lenses.

I expect no more and no less than an D810 with the a7rII sensor with everything that would reasonably entitle to, minus the IBIS. I'd be happy if they don't put another stupid fn1 button and ruin the grip like they did with the D7500. Hopefully they focus group ergonomics including non-asians with larger hands!
