Many fans who went to D23 Expo’s Level Up! Video Games Showcase yesterday got to see new trailers and talent from upcoming games like Kingdom Hearts 3 and Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man. Of course, Star Wars fans weren’t left out since they got a dose of Star Wars Battlefront 2.
During the Star Wars Battlefront 2 segment, Lucasfilm Story Group’s Steve Blank and Janina Gavankar (The League, Sleepy Hollow), who plays lead character Iden Versio, made an appearance to talk about the upcoming game. They also unveiled a new video titled Star Wars Battlefront 2: Behind the Story.
The video talks about how players will get to experience the Imperial’s perspective. Iden, who was put into a military camp for children, has been training to become commander of the elite Inferno Squad. She happens to be on Endor when the second Death Star was destroyed. Now with it and the Emperor gone, what will they do?
We also get to see Hask (played by Paul Blackthorne from The CW’s Arrow), who’s a zealot and only sees that the Empire is the way. Another character is Del (played by T.J. Ramini), who has seen more of the galaxy compared to most in the Empire. He grew up in Coruscant and brings humor to the squad. In addition, there’s Iden’s father, Admiral Versio, who’s played by Anthony Skordi. He gives orders to Iden and wants her to understand why he’s doing what he’s doing.
Nerd Reactor also had the chance to play Star Wars Battlefront 2 at EA Play. From my playthrough, it looks like EA and DICE have listened to the complaints. The Naboo map is great for a shooter, and the weapons have a kick to them. Check out our impressions here.
Star Wars Battlefront 2 is coming November 17, 2017, for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
