Beyonce Knowles remembers Lisa ”Left Eye” Lopes
TLC has influenced just about every female group that’s out there now, and they definitely influenced Destiny’s Child. We were very lucky to go on tour with them in the very beginning of our career. I’ll never forget Lisa coming into our dressing room and welcoming us. She was so professional and nice and warm and humble. A lot of people don’t know that side of her, but that’s how I remember her. She made cards and gave them to everybody on the tour. People just don’t do that. I remember she used to play Beethoven. She was so creative, into so many things, I was very impressed by her. We didn’t talk that often because they were working and we were working. But I’ve been on many tours and it’s not very often that people come and welcome you. She did, and I’ll always remember that. (Lisa ”Left Eye” Lopes died in a car crash near the Honduran town of Jutiapa.)
