LONDON — Europe’s major markets seesawed in early afternoon trading on Friday.
The DAX in Frankfurt and the FTSE MIB in Milan were broadly flat at 12,641.30 and 21,514.37, respectively. The CAC 40 in Paris climbed 0.1 percent to 5,239.93, while the FTSE 100 in London was down 0.3 percent to 7,392.32.
The euro traded at $1.14, while the pound fetched $1.29 and the Swiss franc equaled $1.04 at 1:35 p.m. CET.
Retail and luxury stocks were uneven, with the afternoon’s biggest fallers including Superdry parent SuperGroup, 1.8 percent to 15.41 pounds; Jimmy Choo, 2.3 percent to 1.96 pounds; MySale Group, 2.6 percent to 1.14 pounds, and Asos.com, 2.3 percent to 56.24 pounds.
Among the few risers were Yoox Net-a-porter Group, 1.4 percent to 25.70 euros; Tesco, 1.2 percent to 1.75 pounds, and Geox, 1.1 percent to 3.09 euros.
