Hindi fans displeased as A.R. Rahman performs more Tamil songs at a concert

Music maestro A. R. Rahman recently performed the 'Netru Indru Nalai' concert at Wembley in the United Kingdom. However, a few fans attending the musical night seemed to have felt "out of place" and even "walked out" from the show complaining that most of the songs were in Tamil and not in Hindi.

Music maestro A. R. Rahman recently performed the 'Netru Indru Nalai' concert at Wembley in the United Kingdom. However, a few fans attending the musical night seemed to have felt "out of place" and even "walked out" from the show complaining that most of the songs were in Tamil and not in Hindi. A few disappointed fans even took to Twitter to vent their anger with a few even asking for a refund as they claimed to be unaware that the concert would have more Tamil songs over his Hindi hits.

The Oscar-winning music composer, who is regarded as the 'Mozart of Madras', has a volume of work in the Tamil, Telugu, English and Hindi music industry.
However, an audience member felt the singer was being "disrespectful" for speaking in Tamil, as he "made his name in Bollywood".

Meanwhile, a few other fans came out in support of the singer and the organisers, by pointing out that the concert was titled in Tamil




Replying to the complaints from fans, the Facebook page of the event posted the track list that showed that there were 16 full tracks in Hindi, 12 full tracks in Tamil and a medley and a mix of Tamil and Hindi. They also made it clear that no 'wrong information on the language of the concert'.
