The Walterdale Bridge has reopened to traffic after a piece of equipment shut down traffic during rush hour Tuesday afternoon.
Edmonton police said a truck that was towing an excavator hit the bridge sometime before 4:10 p.m.

Drivers heading north towards the Walterdale Bridge were diverted east onto Saskatchewan Drive.
The bridge was open again to traffic shortly after 5:15 p.m.
