The comedy-drama Richard Says Goodbye starring Johnny Depp is rounding out its cast with Danny Huston, Rosemarie DeWitt, Zoey Deutch, Devon Terrell and Odessa Young.
The film, which is currently shooting in Vancouver, is written and directed by Wayne Roberts (Katie Says Goodbye). It follows the story of Richard (Depp), a world-weary college professor who is given a life-changing diagnosis and decides to throw all pretense and conventions to the wind and live his life as boldly and freely as possible with a biting sense of humor, a reckless streak, and a touch of madness.
Brian Kavanaugh-Jones of Automatik Entertainment and IM Global’s President of Production Greg Shapiro are producing the film. Stuart Ford and Miguel Palos of IM Global, Karine Martin, David Lipman and Jim Pesoli of Cirrina Studios, David U. Lee and Steve Squillante of Leeding Media, Rian Cahill of Automatik Entertainment, Eric Schultz of Relic Pictures, and Braden Aftergood are serving as executive producers.
IM Global is also international sales with CAA repping domestic rights.
Huston can currently be seen in Wonder Woman, starring Gal Gadot. His other film credits include Big Eyes, starring Amy Adams, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Alfonso Cuaron’s Children of Men. He’s repped by WME, Julian Belfrage Associates and Untitled Entertainment.
DeWitt recently appeared in the Oscar-nominated film La La Land, starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. Her other film credits include Poltergeist, starring Sam Rockwell, The Odd Life of Timothy Green, starring Jennifer Garner, and Lynn Shelton’s Your Sister’s Sister, starring Emily Blunt and Mark Duplass. She is repped by CAA.
Deutch recently starred in Open Road’s Before I Fall and just completed shooting Netflix’s Set It Up. Her other credits include Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some!! and she will next be seen in the J.D. Salinger biopic Rebel in the Rye, starring Nicholas Hoult, which IFC is releasing in September. She is repped by CAA and Gilbertson Entertainment.
Terrell starred in Barry, a look into the early life of former U.S. President Barack Obama. The film had its world premiere at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival. He will next be seen in Ophelia opposite Naomi Watts and Daisy Ridley. He is repped by CAA and Independent Management Company.
Young has starred in Sue Brooks’ Looking for Grace, opposite Radha Mitchell and Richard Roxburgh, and The Daughter, opposite Geoffrey Rush and Sam Neil. She will next be seen in Assassination Nation, starring Bella Thorne and Suki Waterhouse, and Imagine Entertainment’s TV series When the Streetlights Go Out.
A first-look image of Depp in the film has also been released.
