Friday means the end of a busy week, and the start of the weekend. It also has come to mean that it's time for new music. Some of this week's highlights include new releases from The Vamps, Coldplay, and Status Quo, and more.

Kaleidoscope EP - Coldplay

While jaunting around the world in support of 2015's A Head Full of Dreams, Coldplay have been slowly releasing tracks from what has become the Kaleidoscope EP. According to frontman Chris Martin, the EP contains a mix of tracks that came from the A Head Full of Dreams sessions.

Night & Day - The Vamps

It's been two years since British band The Vamps released their commercially successful second album Wake Up. They've used that time to take a new approach to their craft by largely jettisoning their previous One Direction styling. Instead, this album finds them releasing music inspired by some of the latest pop trends.

If you've been watching the TV adaptation of Neil Gaiman's American Gods, then you'll know that the soundtrack is integral to the tone of the show. Today's release includes the original score, along with composer Brian Reitzell's collaborations with Mark Lanegan, Debbie Harry, and Shirley Manson.

Monuments - Edguy

Over the past two and a half decades, Germany's Edguy have cemented themselves as one of the most popular and important Power metal bands. Monuments is part studio release, with five new songs, and part compilation album spanning the band's career.

Baby Driver (Music From The Motion Picture) - Various Artists

Edgar Wright may be best known for his involvement in the Cornetto Trilogy along with longtime collaborator Simon Pegg. However, Baby Driver sees him take a high profile venture on his own with a well received action comedy. Wright took a Tarantino-style approach to the soundtrack, featuring an incredibly varied and eclectic mix of artists and songs.

Ultralife - Oh Wonder

London alt-pop duo Oh Wonder are back for their sophomore album Ultralife. Written in an Airbnb rental, and recorded over 10 days in their hometown, this release sees them expand on the sound of their debut.

The Last Night of the Electrics (Live) - Status Quo [Broken URL Removed]

Although 2016 was an emotional time for the band (long-serving guitarist Rick Parfitt passed away in December), it showed that they are fully committed to continue to tour their unique-brand of rock(in') all over the world. The Last Night of the Electrics pulls together recordings from the band's performance in London in December 2016.

The Concert in Hyde Park - Paul Simon

Back in 2012, Paul Simon headlined the last night of London's Hard Rock Calling Festival, performing with the original musicians involved in Simon's seminal album Graceland. Presented here for the first time are the recordings from the night The Guardian called "one of the landmark concerts of his career".
