Hermès

Hermès is showcasing new models to augment its treasured collections : the Slim d’Hermès, Arceau and Nantucket. So if you're in the mood for watches, read on.

Slim d’Hermès

Introduced in 2015, the Slim d’Hermès is known for its straightforward aesthetics, from its slender case to the characteristic lugs to the font used for the Arabic numerals on the dial. Launching in May, this new Slim d’Hermès GMT, crafted from palladium, is just 9.48mm thick, and its slate gray dial displays the distinctive numerals emblematic of the line, designed by French graphic designer and typographer Philippe Apeloig. The watch features a sunburst chapter ring, guilloche center and date counter at 6 o’clock, as well as a silver-toned GMT counter at 10 o’clock.

Inside beats the Ultra-thin Manufacture Hermès H1950 self-winding movement, measuring just 2.6 mm thick, combined with the 1.4mm of the ultra-thin GMT module developed by Agenhor exclusively for Hermès. The movement is equipped with a micro-rotor that drives the dual time reading with AM/PM indications for home time and travel time, simply adjusted via a dedicated pushbutton, making the watch a worthy travel companion. The movement’s bridges are hand-chamfered and decorated with the “Sprinkling of H’s” motif known throughout the collection, while components of the module feature Côtes de Genève and circular graining, which may be admired through the sapphire crystal caseback. The Slim d’Hermès GMT is a 90-piece limited edition, and it is fitted on a matte Graphite alligator leather strap, crafted, of course, in the Hermès leather workshops where straps are handcrafted according to the company’s rigorous standards.

Hermès

Arceau Cavales

The Hermès Arceau, designed by legendary artistic director Henri d’Origny in 1978, is reinterpreted this year with a “cavales” equestrian motif on the dial. This design is crafted in stunning white mother-of-pearl marquetry.

The 28mm or 36mm steel timepiece is studded with 60 or 70 diamonds, respectively, on the inner bezel. A black-dial version, in 28mm, features 56 diamonds on the bezel that beautifully complement the lacquered and champlevé equestrian décor on the dial. The former version is fitted on a matte Chantilly alligator leather strap, while the black-dial version is fitted on a matte black alligator leather strap. Both straps are single tour. Swiss-made quartz movements power the hours and minutes.

Nantucket

The Nantucket Jeté de diamants “Très Petit Modèle,” recently introduced, celebrates diamonds for daily wear. Its rhodium-plated, sand-colored dial is set with 35 diamonds, while the 17mm x 23mm steel case is set with an additional 55 diamonds. This quartz-driven watch is fitted on a single tour alligator strap in a choice of colors: smooth ember or matte étoupe, Mykonos blue, cactus green, abyss blue and black. Named for the tiny island off the coast of Massachusetts, the Hermès Nantucket first made its debut more than twenty-five years ago, conceived by none other than famed Hermès designer Henri d'Origny. Incidentally, d’Origny is also responsible for the Cape Cod collection.
