Abstract: The Eustachian tube connects the tympanic cavity and the nasopharynx,it consists of 2 different portions:an osseous posterolateral and a fibrocartilaginous anteromedial portion.Eustachian tube dysfunction results in inadequate middleear ventilation, causing aural fullness and tinnitus. There are medical and surgical treatments, the treatment in common use is insertion of ventilation tubes.Recently,Eustachian tube balloon dilation has been proposed as a potential solution,it is safe, minimally invasive and effective.
