Harry Styles has embraced the Instagram generation's favorite color. The singer sported a millennial pink suit while performing on Today this morning in New York City, amidst a crowd of obsessed fans.

The tailored look—namely, those flared pants—is reminiscent of retro rock star style. (Even Mick Jagger couldn't resist a powder pink combo in the '70s.) "Pink is the only true rock & roll color," Styles said in his Rolling Stone cover story, quoting Paul Simonon of The Clash.

Considering Style's penchant for Gucci, it's surprising this suit is not an Alessandro Michele design. It's by Edward Sexton, a British designer who's previously dressed Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney, Fashionista points out. (He's also responsible for Bianca Jagger's iconic wedding suit.) So while Styles opts for an unexpected brand, he's paying tribute to his British rock and roll predecessors.

Add this to the list of unconventionally lovable Harry Styles suits.
