Abstract: Objective In order to investigate the clinic value of autologous serum skin test (ASST) in chronic spontaneous urticarial (CSU).Methods Autologous serum skin test was used in 154 patients with CSU and 30 healthy controls. Results Among 154 patients,67 patients (43.5%) were detected positive results, while all healthy control were detected negative results (P<0.05).There was no significant difference on gender, age distribution and course, between the patients ASST positive and ASST negative (P>O.05).The symptom score in the patients ASST positive was significantly higher than that of the patients ASST negative (P<0.05),and the itching duration was significantly longer than that of the patients ASST negative (P<0.05).There was a positive correlation between the itching duration and the positive degree in ASST.The rate associated with allergic history in the patients ASST positive was significantly higher than that of the patients ASST negative (P<0.05).Conclusion The clinical symptoms of the patients ASST positive were more severe than those of the patients ASST negative. As a screening test of the functional autoantibody in chronic urticaria,ASST could be wildly used in clinic.
