Abstract: Peripheral facial paralysis is a common clinical disease.Facial nerve dysfunction can lead to gradual shrinking of the muscles innervated, but it is unclear if any changes exist in the facial microcirculation. As we all know,Laser Speckle Contrast Imaging (LSCI) allows for noninvasiveness, easy use,and real-time monitoring of cutaneous blood flow changes, which enables its use as a surrogate end point in clinical trials. It is of great significance to establish an evaluation criterion of facial microcirculation using LSCI to clarify the pathophysiology of the microcirculation dysfunction of facial paralysis and the impacts of microcirculation function on the facial nerve recovery.
